WOWZER......thats 5 bucks more then i paid for my 1/2 bushel of small pickles. i'd wait a bit there just starting to come in.

i'm doing the same with sweet corn. i usually do about 1 1/2 dozen sweet corn. husk boil cut off the cob, put it in zip log bags, cool and freeze. damn that tastes good in the dead of winter.........just like fresh sweet corn.

How many lbs of pickles make a bushel.  We buy 40 lbs.  I'm thinking we pay a buck a lb. or close to that.

  couldnt tell ya LPS. just get ours by the bushel or half. that generally makes between 17 to 24 qts depending on the size.

Turns out real close to 1 lb of pickles per qt.  So will get about 40 qts from the 40 lbs.  You can get 10 lbs in a double bagged plastic grocery store bag.  That is full.  We get 4 bags full.

Aren't you suppose to season your lid rings outside for a month to add some color and flavor to them?
