BIG win last night. :happybounce: :party1: Odorizzi pitched 5 1/3 strong innings & then couldn't find home plate, walkin 2. Duffy's wild pitch, a double by Puig cost 'em 2 runs, & the lead. Good thing Garver had 2 HR's & 4 RBI"s in him last night. :cheerleader: Not sure who's starting today? Probably 1 of the young guys.  1st pitch @ 1:10

Off day today, hope they get a couple more guys healthy as we've got the Nationals comin to town tomorrow. Need to get the bats rollin again. With the lead still 5 1/2 games. :cheerleader: I have to believe that Cleveland is just hoping to get in as a wild card now. They're are a 1 1/2 back of TB & Oakland in that race. We've got 3 more with them out there after the Nats.

I always wonder how pro athlete team mates feel when one of they guys gets popped for steroids/masking agents, like Pineda.

They always say the right thing in the press, but what are they really thinking.

Do they feel betrayed?
Or do they have a greater understanding of what it takes to stay on the field - even if it means running the risk of using steroids for a time?
All of the above?

I've wondered that too SO.  They not only hurt themselves but they also hurt the team.

And now it is a very real possibility that Buxton will have season ending shoulder surgery.

Who knows how Nelson Cruz's wrist will hold up or what is ailing Sano.

Not good.

I'd imagine it's like any other sport...a team mate purposely does something they know they shouldn't, like run illegal tires/pull a restrictor plate out/ add rear weight, etc, and gets caught, blows it for the whole team.  We had one guy on our football team that kept making dirty hits, and cost us a game thru a forfeit once...and that was the end of him.

Guess we'll find out today if Buxton is done for the season as he was scheduled to see a specialist out in Calif. yday. If he deemed surgery was necessary it was supposed to be done yday. A strange start time for todays game, 6:40 1st pitch with Berrios gettin the ball. Nats are just comin off a tough series with Atl & I'd like to see us get the 1st game before their big guns take the mound. :cheerleader:

It's too bad we didn't pull the trigger on the trade with the Mets. They wanted Buxton for the young flame thrower Noah Syndergaard.

They had a lot of offers for him after the last year he had in AAA,  just about everybody wanted him. We would've never been able to hold on to Syndergard for more than 2-3 seasons IMO anyway, Reb. Those guys get big $, more that the Twins are willin to pay usually.

:happy1: Polanco's hit was big too. So was the work Romo & May did so they didn't have to use Rogers last night. That was the best Berrios has looked since Opening Day IMO. Indians beat the Angels for the 2nd day in a row so the lead is still 5. :cheerleader:

Don't get me wrong, I like Buck but he has struggled every year with injuries. It's awesome to see him make spectacular plays on defense, but he needs to have less collisions with the wall (play a little more conservative) if he is ever going to live up to his full potential and make it through a whole season. He is an exciting player! He scares the competition with his speed and defense! The hype when he was in the minors was as much as Mike Trout or maybe more, but he hasn't had the opportunity to live up to it because of being too aggressive on defense and getting injured.

my son follows the Twins religously. buxton has a brother in the Military, i guess they spotlighted him when they had a military honors day a while back.

they say that his military brother is faster then our center fielder.
