We seen somebody out on Bowstring this morning, so we drove through the CR 35 PA. There was 1 vehicle in the lot & when I checked the landing there wasn't any sled or wheeler tracks. Just tracks from their Otter sleds. I mentioned that to Tim & he said he had somebody in on Saturday that had told him there was still 27" of ice over there but about bottom 5" or so wasn't very good ice.

We've got a calendar on the desktop & it says that in 2021 we had the dock in a week ago today. Then 2 or 3 years ago we didn't get it in until Wednesday or Thursday right before the Opener. Tim over at the store said he thought it could be that late again this year.

Unless we get some real warm weather and some rain I am guessing it will be the end of the month or later here as well.  The wind today is moving some ice chunks around in the open water that pulled from shore.  But there is still plenty of ice out there yet.  I think there is still to much ice to make the whole thing shift.

:doah: :doah:  the Geigers webcam has been awol the last 2 days so i cant see what the ice is looking like.!!!!!! :doofus: but i made an executive decision yesterday.........i'h headed to the cabin next tuesday come hell or high water. i got stuff to do. i really want the dock in......i need to replace boards on it.  and would like to do that then put the pieces on with it in the lake...........but will adapt if needed.

there's all kinds of branches laying around to.  my brother hasnt been up there since deer camp.......he's had medical issues and more then likely wont get to go up even for fishing opener.........and thats gonna kill him!!!! :bonk:
