Was on MLB channel which fer some reason we have. Tuned in to see they had the bases loaded with nobody out, and couldn't do diddly. Jeffers swinging at junk his first pitch ( probably looking for a fastball) and letting the next go by right down the gut, he got schooled.

They had 2 on nobody pout in the 7th and didn't score.

Bases loaded and nobody out in the 8th and didn't score.

Buxton leads off the 9th with a homerun, Kepler follows bouncing one high off the wall for a double. Next 3 go down.

Stewart has worked 3 innings in St Paul & done OK. He'll make at least 1 more appearance before he comes off the IL next week. Henriquez has been brought back up to help out in the bullpen. Lewis is expected to go to St Paul to start a brief rehab assignment soon. Ober gets the ball today @ 6:30 vs the Phillies.

Twins and Royals tied for 2nd, 5 game back.

Their 54/44 record would be good for 3rd in the AL East and 1st in the AL West - all courtesy of the White Sox giving their games away.  The Twins are 9-1 against them so far this season.  (They Royals are also 9-1, but the Guardians are 5-5).

Twins are 10 games over .500
So is Atlanta, whats everybody's perception of the Braves?

Twins get Lewis, Correa & Miranda back and Stewart & Paddack for the bullpen and they will be fine.

Braves could be busy at the trade deadline as they have 1/2 their starters & 2 of their best RBI guys out, maybe, for the season. Albies(2b) broke his wrist last night trying to make a tag. I agree too, dutchy, next man up for the next week or so & they'll be fine.

Lewis to start his rehab with the Saints today. Another nice start from Ober yday after close to a 1.5-hour rain delay. SWR goes today @ 6:30.

By "they'll be fine"...  I think you mean they'll stay in the hunt.  They still have work to do, now only 4 back, but the Royals keeping pace.

Will the Royals be buyers for the same pool of players the Twins would be interested in?  Would the Guardians also be buyers to keep players away from the teams trailing them?

It is shaping up to be an interesting finish.  :happy1:

Heres Duran's line tonight. Notice the strikes to pitches ratio. It was 0-0 going into the 9th before Duran gave up 3.

That might be true but there is something wrong with him. He isn't filling the zone and blowing people away as was his reputation. With his alleged stuff he should be pouring down the middle and challenging guys to hit it. He's either hurt or the pencil pushers are dictating where and what he throws when.

In any event a rare pitchers duel.

Nah, I think he's OK, he just didn't have his best stuff yday. His control wasn't the best either. Getaway Day today so it's an early game. Bullpen game for the Twins too, so Okert is opening @ noon.

Does it say anything that Rocco would rather do a bullpen day than expose Varland or Festa to the Philly's? If they lose this one they would be on a 1-4 skid coming out of the break.

Another late game comeback for the win today. 2 of 3 from Philly isn't all bad after falling flat on their face against Milwaukee. Hopefully the walking wounded start getting back soon.

That's 3 straight series that the Phillies have lost & 4 out of the last 5. The Twins exposed their weakness in this series, it's their bullpen. They pitched 7 innings during the 3 games & gave up 8 runs. Glad to see Duran get right back on the horse & only need 10 pitches to get through the 9th. Pretty nice bunt by Martin to set up the winning score. :cheerleader: Day off today, it's a 5:30 game in Detroit on Friday with Lopez getting the ball.

Yeah.....I saw that. Haven't watched a Twins game since May 1. Saw the rate may go up though.

Our phone/internet/cable back home has gotten so crazy expensive & since we're hardly ever there, we went back to Mediacom's basic package. We have Paul Bunyan up here & that's all fiberoptics. Phone, 4 TVs, & a faster internet is > $100/ month cheaper than back in Ia.

3-2 Detroit in the 7th. Lewis hit a 2 run homer, Stewart in the game pitching.

Can they come back yet again?
