Keeping in mind the Twins #1 need is starting pitching do you really think the team with the most pitching to trade being the White Sox will trade with the Twins a team in their own division?

There is no single player that will be available to the Twins that will tip the scales in the second half. They can get a couple of bullpen arms but they won't be well known guys. I'm not in favor of spending just for the sake of spending. It needs to improve the team and be affordable. Both Stewart and Topa will be back in the next couple of weeks to boost the bullpen. Lets see what things look like right after the all star break.

Biggest moment last night was Correa getting hit. Hand went numb. Seems to be OK.

Hey Barry, you picked a weird game to watch. A bunch of little leaguers in the 5th inning today.   :pouty:

Twins win 5-3 despite Lewis doing nothing with the bat again today. He's in a 1-27 funk.

Larnach homers and drives in 3.

They gain a game on Cleveland who lost to KC today.

 Seattle had more guys reach base on balls that didn't get out of the infield in that series than I've seen in a long time. :doah: Glad to get out there getting 2 out of 3.

Senators moved from Washington DC to Minnesota in 1961 and became the Minnesota TWINS.

On Saturday they won franchise win number 5,000. Yesterday 5,001.

Lewis is to have an MRI along with some other tests today & is still listed as day-to-day. But he has said he's not very optimistic though. Festa takes the mound for a 7:10 start tonight.

Even before the Twins put a china doll in center, they had an ex-catcher at 1st who suffered from bi-lateral leg weakness.     Once again proving ol' Mick was right...

Dan Barreiro's bit on KFAN at the time was "How long will Mauer milk it?" given how often Joe was out of the lineup with mysterious ailments.

I don't think any of these guys 'milk' it, but is sure is a shame that some guys' bodies just break down when they push them at that level and there ain't nothing they can do about it.

Lots of wear & tear on Mauers body. He was a star in basketball, football and baseball so there was no down time to recover between sports. Then the Twins fast tracked him and had him catch every game. I don't doubt he had physical problems but the main problem was the Twins not coming clean on what was wrong.

China doll 1 and china doll 2 might end up being ok, only time will tell. To this point Buxton has held up, but now we are entering the heat of the summer which will wear these guys down. They will start DH'ing Buxton more the second half I'm guessing. I'm not going to speculate on Lewis as I haven't heard the results of the test or how long they expect him to be out.
