Nothing fancy here but a change.  Again I bought a bag of oranges with unreal expectations that they would be sweet orange flavored.  Man I have had one after my nap two days in a row and they are so sour I threw them away.  SO I tried to squeeze one into a vodka, Sprite, orange cocktail.  Sour as heck even with the vodka and Sprite in it.  Anyone want some free oranges?

Dang, haven't had a bad oranges in a long time. We've bought them at Teals,  cash wise, and some of the best ones at Costco.

Usually the ones we get that the FFA kids sell locally are decent. They just got their fruit in but haven't contacted us yet. Sure wish I could still eat grapefruit.  😕

It's the statin of course & not the gin. Gin goes with everything!  :happy1:

Statins are a class of medications that help lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease

got me wondering!!!   :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Grapefruit cancels out some meds.  Told the Dr. how I crave a grapefruit since I can't have one.  He said the day you have one your meds won't work for that day.

Yeah, quite a few meds say "do not eat grapefruit" on 'em these days. If anybody bothers to read the label.

The vodka still works in a vodka/grapefruit.

When we run thru our gin allotment on our Canadian excursions, we're not above making vodka tonics with Jack Rudy's syrup & club soda. As long as you use the higher end vodkas like Stoli or Smirnoff, it does the job.

As far as the statin/grapefruit relationship, it appears to vary with the statin. The one I'm on is on the naughty list. It's been very effective especially given some of the stuff I eat. I figure my liver has enough to deal with so just hafta forego the grapefruit. High cholesterol is nothing to be embarrassed about. It's genetic in my case. Not doing anything about it, suffering the consequences & being a burden to someone else, now that's something to be embarrassed about.
