I always get a kick out of how people are more focused on video-ing what might be their final demise than they are in trying to stay alive.  :tut:

Watch a Mountain Climber Fend Off a Furious Black Bear Attack in Japan

A mountain climber in Japan fought off a hard-charging black bear and lived to tell the tale. The attack occurred while the unnamed man was traversing a precarious ridge near the summit of Mt. Futago. The entire ordeal was captured by a helmet-mounted GoPro camera, and the footage—which the climber posted to YouTube on October 1—has now been viewed more than 2 million times. See it for yourself below.

Wow he is lucky he didn't fall off the cliff.  He did good yelling at it.  Seemed to help.  Just crossed climbing off of my bucket list.

The crazy part is the bear attacked from ABOVE.

Who'da expected a bear to be up there?

Getting knocked off and falling down the cliff didn't seem to phase the bear one bit.  Maybe just pi$$ed it off a bit.

I wondered if he didn't walk right past that bear in one of those little ravines and woke it up.

Watch: Brown Bear Charges Tourists in Alaska  The link has the video.

A photo safari turned into a close encounter with a charging coastal bear for a group of tourists in Alaska. On June 22, tour company Scenic Bear Viewing posted footage to Instagram of a brown bear charging the guided group.

Lol, I had to. Thank God it's not hunting season,  just tourist season  :surrender: . A fella I know pretty well was up nort Deer hunting,  his hunting partner was on a ridge while the other guy walked out to the truck. The fella on ridge watched several Wolves trail the other guy, so it happens even here but im sure the Wolves were more curious than anything.... not so much for taking a kill.

When I used to work for the snowmobile trail program here we were in the woods from fall to early to mid winter.  We would get stuck now and then and always wondered/felt like wolves were watching us.  One time I went ahead and waited and the other two caught up and said there were fresh wolf tracks 40 yards from me right over my sled tracks.  This was about 9pm and was black dark out that night.  Started carrying the next day.

The video in the link is worth a look-see, but the picture of the kids with the camera pretty much sums it up.  More of the Stupid (parents) doing their best to get (their kids) weeded-out by Nature.

Even then it probably won't stop. And then they will kill the bear because of the stupid idiots that invaded the bears space.

No worries.  They don't have to run faster than the bear.  They just have to be able to run faster than that poor little kid in the pink sweatshirt in the front row.
