Last year I fried them.  I might try boiling them in 7up.

What everyone's favorite way to cook these beautiful fish?
Anything that is free is worth saving up for.

I just cut off the backstraps and the tail meat and simmer it in water and then cut into chunks and dip it in butter.  It's great!  Some people do it in 7up.

Eelpout.....do as LPS suggest. Backstraps is about all there is on them. I broil and dip in butter.....Poor Mans Lobster.
Conservative on some things.....Liberal on others.....Sane most of the time.

No no no. Skin them, like a bull head.on the belly, put a nail thru the head on a board, cut all fins off, clslice thru just tue skin right behind the head, pulling skin off. Fillet down from  top of spine and off the rib cage, once past rib cage towards the tail, fillet off tail. Rince, cut in 2 inch chunks, rolling in walleye batter, cooking same size chunks seperately so all cooks the same. Delicciius!

Personality I’d try the 7up recipe. Done it with northerners and tastes great.

I like using Mt. Dew better, the taste is better I think.... 
a bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at work!!
