Looking at 511 here in the Blue Earth, Watonwan and Faribault counties and talking with folks. Lots of spinouts, a couple of jackknifed semis and some slick intersections. Good night to be inside the home.
I used to be cute and adorable. Then, I had my first birthday. Been downhill ever since.

Yupper, the roads were icky yesterday a.m. Some dummies tailgated me all the way into Bugtussle. I knew how slick it was. When I came to the stop sign on the gravel after feeding the sheep at the neighbor's pasture, it was tough to move w/o putting it in 4WD. Looked like a skating rink so kept 'er cool once on the blacktop. Was afraid the way it was snowing after chores last nite I might have to move snow this a.m. Luckily it stopped shortly after I was inside.

It warmed up overnite & lot of the roads had thawed off or blown clear when I went to town this a.m. Looks like it's reached the freezing mark so it should continue to thaw this afternoon. Melting good in Bugtussle presently. Old Man Winter just fired a warning shot.  :coffee:

Here as well.  Just put salt on the sidewalk because the fog is almost like a mist and they are slickery.  Guessing some black ice on the roads in places too.

Fog & mist earlier, staying cloudy. The county blacktop here was OK but MN Hwy 13 seemed to be a little slick outside of Bugtussle. Had to scrape the windshield before starting out this a.m. so that was a clue. Looks like a warmer weekend relative to the past couple days so likely be a good time to do odds and ends around the yard before the ground freezes up. Some are hoping for the ground to freeze so they can get one more shot at anhydrous ammonia or finishing primary tillage. Some were able to get some tillage done until it warmed back above freezing. Soil surface turned to snot and it was over until it freezes up again. I'd like it to be frozen too for manure hauling so I don't track mud all over. Wild how it's gone from being dry as a popcorn fart to too wet in a matter of a couple weeks.
