Something that's apparent here in my travels is there is more snow cover than farther west. More standiing corn stalks, unworked bean stubble, hay & cover crops catching more snow. It's likely keeping us a few degrees cooler.

With the sun getting stronger, we lost some of our snow. We didn't have much before. We got to 27°.

I was a tad surprised to see 46° on our thermometer. Not a lot of wind, either. Looks like more of the same tomorrow.

It got to 42 that I saw yesterday.  When I put the wifes car in the garage it was raining here too.  Just dropped to 36 from 37 as I was looking at it.

The radar looked pretty green up your way from early afternoon on, LPS. It even had a little blue in it at times. I was wondering how much of that actually hit the ground up there.

Good morning, campers. Clear, 36° and barely a breeze this morning when I let the hens out. No frozen water to deal with.
Scrounged around yesterday and got my pile of scrap metal even bigger. I have to either get my scrap guy out here or find a different guy. Minor issue.
Might be a good day to see what fishing gear needs some attention.
      Stay safe, everyone.

When I put the car in I thought well cool it is raining.  Then I realized it was coming down harder than I thought and hurried up and got back in the house.  Felt kind of good.

Never thought I'd see it but we have mud again in areas where it's thawed. Everyone was howling about how dry it was but the snow had enough moisture in it (~1/2" worth) to make it muddy. The worst place is on the north facing slope going to the main barn. It's mud on top of frozen soil there and you can easily fall on yer asset if yer not careful. Looked like we might get a sprinkle last nite but didn't see anything.

I was just out & I had to walk like a duck or I'd of been on my :moon:. It was nowhere near that bad yday. We have 8-10 large pines on the north side of the cabin & there's a south facing slope just this side of that. We have a lot more grass showing in that area today than we did yday. There's hardly any snow left on the garage roof & it's almost all up near the peak on the back side of the cabin as well. With that wind & the way the downspouts are all running already, I expect a lot more of the snow on the cabin roof to be gone by tomorrow too.

Just a few spots of ice left that the sun can't hit in my yard, the dogs are a mess when let out, that frost can't come out quick enough.  Try telling 2 labs " no fetch today" just catch on the patio... doesn't fly!
