Made 54 at the ranch. The patches of snow shrunk significantly.

 An 80% chance of thunderstorms on Friday night in the long-range forecast here & WCCO's map makes it look like it could get here by late Friday morning. That could easily change by tomorrow though.

I remember the St Patrick's day storm in 1965. It was a doozer. A drunken Irishman who live about a mile and a half west of us got stuck on the road by our driveway. Dad and another neighbor got him in the tractor bucket and took him home driving in reverse all the way for fear he'd fall out.

'65 was a dandy, especially with all the flooding that followed. They had to deliver some of us to and from school in an Econoline van that spring. The roads wouldn't allow for school bus traffic without them rutting the gravel (crushed rock) roads up or getting stuck. The flooding on the Root River was spectacular to look at over by Cummingsville west of Chatfield.

Watching to see what this weekend develops into. So far, looks like the projected track and forecast are indicating rain after the mid-70's high on Friday. We're positioned to be on the east side of the low this time as it passes according to the map I saw earlier. High Saturday sound like 46 with a 19 degree low Saturday nite. Then back to winter for a few days. Just March doing March things...

Says 54 in Waseca presently. It'll need to hoof it if it's gonna get to 65 like they forecast.

Unreal!  Just mixed up a manny and was going to sit on the deck with it.  It was 48 here at 3:24.  It is 39 and dropping fast here.  Windy as heck too.  The last I looked it is supposed to get down to 7 tonight and only about 30 for the high tomorrow.  Oh well the ol freeze dry thing kicks in now.  Oh ya, I am back in at my desk now.  Was a short time on the deck.  Didn't even get to sit down.

Ya I'm chomping at the bit fer the dance floor furniture,  yard is just too wet to sit and entertain pooches. If they weren't talking rain /snow this weekend we'd be looking good. The chuckers can hold fuel til May as far as I'm concerned. The pick em up said 67 at one point coming home today,  until I got close and it dropped to 63....coincidence??? Just kidding darling!!  :bonk:

Still talking mid-70's here on Friday. I see the words "patchy blowing snow" have been added to our Saturday night forecast however. Sorta how our last go round started from 4 days out.
