I stand corrected :doofus:, my brother said it was $1.72 this time & more like $2.10 last fall.

From Freeborn Co. Co-Op, $.99 for summer fill which they usually do anyway for us keep-full accounts. Think I saw $1.49 contract paid in advance for winter from them but don't quote me on that. Can't remember where I saw it but need to check into it.

Ours just came in the mail today.  $1.59 for pre buy.  Must be at least 200 gallons.  SO if the rack price goes above $1.59 we are locked in.  If the rack price falls below $1.59 we get the lower rack price.

Summer fill here in beautiful Blue Earth County from our coop, is $1.50/gal. Haven't seen winter rates yet.

A guy not too far from me just bought two 1,000 gallon tanks. I might ask him, next time I see him, what the tanks, install and fill cost.

We pay a lease on our tank if we don't use a certain amount of propane.  Can't remember the amount.  Last year we did pay a little since we didn't use as much.  Elec was cheaper to use than propane last year.  At $1.59 propane will be cheaper this year. For us with dual heat systems.  I should look up the formula again, haven't done it in a few years.  Seems like about $1.89 was the break even point for propane vs electric.  ???

We pay a tank lease fee as well no matter how much we use.  It's not a lot and it allows them to remotely see the level of gas in my tank.   They just keep me filled.  I just had a delivery made for $1.51.    I have my grill, fryer and griddle running off that main tank so I will be able to cook all summer and have plenty to go into fall.

We with dual heat can not get the keep full program.  We have to call when we get to around about 30%.  Works just fine for us.

My friend near Cass Lake has a 10 year old 16X70 trailer/mobile/manufactured home. I think he said it costs about $400 a month to heat (with propane) in winter. Does that right?

Seems a bit steep to me but I guess it would depend on a lot of things. Might want to spend some time and money getting ready for winter.

also depending on how old the trailer is will it have very much insulation and how well sealed is it overall???    I have seen trailers wrapped in plastic all around the outside as a wind break...   also was it made for Minn weather vs southern weather..  just wondering...

Does seem a little steep, especially being that new. A person hasn't lived until they've inhabited a '59 Marshfield trailer house like I did when living in Cando ND. Like living in an icebox in winter and an Easy Bake oven in the summer. :coffee:

I appreciate hearing all the lp prices. The letter I got from Lakes gas quoted me 1.68. I end up using between 1500 and 2000 gallons between the house and shop for the winter. Their price seems steep from what I am reading here. I hate calling them every year to try to get them more in line with others.

I have a 500 gallon tank and I think if I use 500 gallons there is no lease charge.  Any money that that is left over from prebuy is put on my regular account at the end of the season for regular purchases.

I wish I would have had the money 43 years ago to buy my own tanks.
