Is it possible to somehow find a users profile info. It’s often nice to know a users name and location. That info. Is listed on my profile and I, sure others. It would be nice to be able to see that info.

Odd. Haven't seen that one before. Looked at your profile along with a bunch of other possibilities. Nothing red flags you in any way & I see nothing in the settings that would disallow it. Probably something simple I'm missing. Good question for HD.

That's a technical question.   Way above my abilities.   I'll ask my kids when I find them.

Do you have any association with Glenn? That would be a big red flag.

I'm working off of my phone right now, so I have limited capability. But, I believe that you have to have so many posts to make it to an "outdoorsman" level (it's labeled something like that) once you get there you could view profiles. It's set up that way so a spammer can't jump on and steal information then leave.

Also, I believe that each member can block whether it's visible by others. Moderators can still see it, but other members can't if that function is turned on. Again, I'll have to jump on a PC to verify, but I'm thinking that's the way it's setup.

I always felt like a creeper accidentally hitting someone's handle, but just for chits n giggles I hit Glenn's. Just says his age and hometown , no big deal. Does this set up show who all looks at your personal stuff like fm did back in the day?

Denny, HD, the site owner explained it pretty well earlier in this post. Something to do with scammers. He's pretty busy this time of year. I see a lot of new people signing up but never log in to participate??? :doah:

I agree glenn, as I do the same thing sometimes.   ;)  If I see a new name or 2 on the Home Page I will occasionally click on their profile & it's a bit surprising how many actually have 0 posts. Which is probably OK most of the time, but I'm also sure that there's some that have  intentions too. :mad1:

I tried it this morning to see what the fuss is all about, I simply logged in, clicked on a forum members name a time or two and was able read about them easy enough.

Well the jump from minnow to outdoorsmen did not change anything. I don’t think that is the issue. Iowaboy1 is listed as a outdoorsmen and it seems to be working for him. I tried it on everyone who responded on this post and got the same message every time. It’s not a big deal. Maybe it will fix itself over time

Hang in there FishThumper, HD is aware of the issue & I'm sure he'll look into it when he has a little free time. Like glenn said, he is very busy right now as he helps friends, who are in the business, process deer.
