While I was at FF yesterday I got stocked up for my fall veggie gardening. Got white globe, cherry belle & watermelon radishes, mesclun mix, arugula, bib lettuce, & 3 kinds of snap peas. Ample room that has gone unplanted so hopefully between now & mid-July there will be an opportunity to seed it down. If not, it's ready to go for next spring.

i waterd my maters, cukes and peppers......judging by the kalarabi the garden could use some rain!!!!!

Got to FF today and bought another Sunsugar tomato plant. I think I will try it in a container of some sort.

Grabbed five  4" cukes off the vine today,  with a bunch of little guys coming down the pipeline. I'll put these in the crisper waiting for the others for a few days, should get a few qts of refrigerator pickles anyhow.

found a cuke about 4 inches long to a bit ago. some baby ones to. do have some maters hanging, and after closer review i believe those sickly maters maybe coming around!!!!!

noticing the dill is getting there, as well as heads forming on the kalarabi. in about 2 weeks i'm gonna be pulling and seeing what the carrots are doing. onions sure look good too!!!!! but they dont really need all this water.

i konw this was brought up in the past, but does this Trimec have a life span???? either that or all this moisture has got every weed seed droped the last 5 years sprouting........good grief!!!!!

Think we've talked about the lifespan on chemicals too but as along as it's stayed thawed & isn't all salted out, it should still be good. Weeds are having a banner year with all the rain. The number of weed seeds in the soil in places can be incredible. One year of missed weed control can replenish the seed bank for years to come whether it's a lawn, garden or agricultural cropland. Most weeds have a built in survival mechanism that allows a %-age of the seed to lie dormant for a period of several years. That %-age and the number of years the seed can remain dormant varies from species to species. It's one of the variables that makes weed control so challenging. This year, along with getting stuck while spraying!   

Some positive notes on the gardening front at the ranch. My replant zucchini is coming up. Supposed to be 50 days to maturity so we'll see. Also cuke seedlings in the last hill of those I stabbed in. I see evidence of a few string beans emerging here and there so finners crossed. One bad thing: I see the SnoSweet tree has a broken limb on it. Hadn't seen that until I pulled out of the driveway this a.m. Was some wind yesterday with the thunderstorm that went thru while I was at the lake. Bummer. It had some die-back from something a few years ago and rallied well after cutting the dead limbs out of it. It's really loaded with apples.

Thanks dotch, yea I'm not sure how that jug of Trimec was stored, I took it from mom's and I'm sure it has been frozen.  It does seem to work some and it's not all salty as you call it. I suspected with all the rain that the weeds are flourishing.
