just read the Gophers will be playing in the Mayo bowl on Jan 3rd at 6;30 pm against Virginia Tech in Charlotte NC at Panthers stadium.

Minnesota Gophers land Georgia Tech transfer QB Zach Pyron

Georgia Tech transfer quarterback Zach Pyron made it official today, he’s committed to the Gophers. After spending his last 3 seasons at Georgia Tech where he only started four games, he decided to hit the transfer portal. Now, he’s bringing his talents to Dinkytown.

If Indiana getting mauled by Notre Dame last night is any indicator the Gophers are miles behind.

You think any of these middling schools will ever come out and say...."we can't compete in the NIL era and will now concentrate on academics and settle for finishing in the bottom 1/3 of the Big 18."

It's going to be a problem at least for the near future. Schools like Michigan & Ohio St. were doing NIL long before it was legit. Standing joke was a lot of the kids playing for those schools didn't want to turn pro because they'd have to take a pay cut. Everyone else is playing catch up. At the U, they need to clean house at the administrative level before they'll ever be competitive. Tall order and perhaps an insurmountable one in our lifetime. I keep hearing crap about tearing down Willum Arena (Thanks Clem!  ) and shake my head. Won't matter. As Ilhan Omar would say, it's all about the Benjamins.

The adminastration needs to turn a blind eye to pay-offs, grades, criminals. If you want to run a clean program than you will be mid pack at the very best. Been that way as long as i've been a sports fan. Clem won because Clem got kids who could hoop. If they could go to school, read, stay out of jail all the better. If they couldn't.....whats the point per game average?

Clean winning athletic programs is just like a honest politicion......you might find one but don't be shocked if you can't. What I struggle with is why can't people see that?
