This guy is washed up, it's time for Radke to sit down and let someone else take his spot in the rotation.

I'm getting tired of him taking the mound every 5th day, granted the offense stunk again today, but I don't think they have any confidence left in Radke.

Send him to AAA with Lohse for a short while and then package them together for a pitching prospect and a proven power hitter.

Like Torii said it was a butt whuppin' I don't know if he needs to be sent down, but somethings got to happen. What bothers me is all our starting pitchers have been rocked and more than once. The game is replaying right now if you want to watch that miserable loss. ;)

They might as well go with the young Turks like Liarano, Baker, Bonser and Santana - Maybe bring up Garza from AA.  They are not going anywhere this here with Chicago and Detroit in their division.  While they are at it with the pitching staff they might as well let Bartlett take over for Castro at short and bring up Moses for Batista.  Ruben Sierra is proving true to his history.  Can't stay healthy and he isn't even playing in the field anymore.  How good would we be with Jim Tomme in the line-up?  He has alsmost twice as many dingers as anyone else on the Twinkies.

I am with you shakey legs.  Garza has only made 2 starts at AA so I don't think they will rush him up this year, but you never know.  I wouldn't mind them promoting Durbin "the real deal", I thought they were going to turn him into a closer though.  I could be wrong on that.

well... it's official, radke was released outright in or fantasy baseball league today.  (note, we are a 10 team AL only league, so those of you that know fantasy baseball... you know it's tight for players and this is huge. ) the guy replaced him with Adam Loewen though...   ::)

I think you are right Hedrocks.  Durbin is being groomed as a setup man and/or a closer.

At this point what have they got to lose? They might as well bring up some of those young guns and put them in the rotation. Who knows it might spark some of the veterans to get their poop in a group. ;D

Well he had a good start tonight.  I guess I would not be shocked if he turned things around this year.  He has gotten off to slow starts in the past, but not as bad as this year.  After seeing Rondell White get picked off 2nd base a few minutes ago, I would rather see the Twins release/trade him soon.

He still had a high pitch count in the 1st inning and I started thinking, "here we go again", but he turned it around and did really well. I dozed off around 10:30ish. I hate those west coast games.

He gave up one run in the second though.  Luckly Mauer threw out the guy stealing 3rd base.

I think he pitched pretty well again tonight.  That run in the 2nd inning was Torii Hunter's fault.

The errors cost Radke tonight.  He gave up 5 runs in 6 innings, but only two runs were earned runs.  I would say, his last 3 starts have been quality starts.  Hopefully, he can keep that going.

Lucky for us Latroy Hawkins still has a job as a major leage pitcher and it looks like he is going to blow the lead for Baltimore.  That guy is such a loser, I can't believe anyone would want him on their team.

Radke has turned the corner.  He has had four or five quality outings in a row.  Not sure what he has been doing different lately, but he has kept the Twins in the game and given them a chance to win.  The way Santana, and Liriano have been pitching, along with Radke pitching good.  The Twins might be able to slowly climb back into the race.  Time will tell!

I just wanted to pull this topic back up to the top of the list.

Brad Radke was awesome tonight!  He held the Tigers to 2 runs over 7 innings.  Two weeks ago, everyone was concerned with his sore shoulder.  Then, he went out pitched 8 innings against the Royals. Granted, they are one of the worst teams in baseball this year.

Then tonight he picked up the team and put them on that sore shoulder, and held the best team in baseball to only two runs.  Way to go Brad!  To think, we were ready to right him off at the beginning of the season.

It is good of you to point out how negative everyone was about him earlier this year.  Like every other year, he has gotten better as the season goes on.  I think I might actually be sad not to see him in a Twins uniform next year.  As bad as he usually is in April and May, he is a much better option as a starter than what we have in the minor leagues right now.

drugs are a wonderful thing... he is hanging it up at the end of the year... and he didn't get the shoulder surgery done that he should have had at the end of last season... i hope he doesn't get tested.

Drugs?  Come on...I think Radke came up big for the Twins last night.  The organization was down yesterday after learning that Liriano has to go on the DL.  Instead of going out and letting the Tiger pound on the Twins again, Radke pitched a gem.  He has always pitched well when the Twins really need him.

The reason he starts the year so poorly, is that he can't workout his arm/shoulder during the off-season.  He gives his all during the regular season and has to rest/recover his right arm/shoulder during the winter.  So, it takes time at the beginning of the season to get back into Radke form.

I for one, will be sorry to see him retire.  He was on some pretty bad Twins teams in the late 90's, but still pitched well.

In my opinion, Radke would be the last player to do illegal drugs. I'm sure he gets a few cortisone shots in the shoulder throughout the seaon though.

He's been pitching ok to good for the last couple of months, his last outing was very good. I hope he can keep it up for 10 more weeks.

If he is on drugs (other than cortisone) he better get a different supplier.  His fastball tops out at 89 mph. with an occasional one at 91.  Like the Realtors say - Location Baby!  If you want to test for drugs maybe they should test the reliever from Detroit that throws them up at 103 mph.

Another big game for Radke today.  He pitched seven shutout innings, and put an end to the Twins 3 game skid.

At the beginning of the season, I was very disgusted with Radke and Cuddyer. Radke is turning out to be one of the best #3's in the leage and Cuddyer is having a very good year as well.

I'm thinking to myself that i should pick on another player or 2 from the roster, then they'll prove me wrong too. ;D

Pick on Torii Hunter.  Although I don't think even your "curse" could turn him into a major league hitter.

Ya!  Let's pick on Hunter.

1.  He is a good $3 million/year player but not $12  million.

2.  Can't hit an outside curveball to save his soul.  This has been the book on him since he came  up.
3.  Hits homeruns when the Twins are up 10-3 or 7-1 but can't produce when runners are in scoring position in a close game.

He is an outstanding defensive centerfielder with a great arm who has had one good year hitting (20+ hrs. and 102 rbi) in his career.

This seems to work pretty good.  Is there another player we can pick on before the season is over?  It is actually hard to complain about the way anyone is playing right now though.
