Hey welcome to the Lodge here at Lake Iwanttobethere. Most of you have driven by the place but might have missed it with all the leaves on the trees. Since you have stopped in have a seat and sit awhile. There is free popcorn and we have a selection of candy and chips and pops for the kids. Hamms is the beer on tap and everyday is Wild Turkey day. We are known for our conies and Gus in the back makes a pretty good chili. Yes you can ride the luge and you can get a toboggan just outside the door. I see a lot of you just come and look around but this time why don't you say Hi and post that you were here. It's easy to do the first time and even easier I hear the second time. So log in and say you have been to the Lodge here at Lake Iwanttobethere !!!

I'll get this started, I come to the Lodge several times a day. I am a member but I also come to have lunch here and enjoy a cigar on the deck from time to time. A have a few fish mounts on the walls and my two dogs Bud and Barney are regulars here. Yes dogs are allowed and welcomed here at the Lodge. I am also the Lodge manager which sounds impressive but really means when something go wrong, and it does I get called. Enjoy your visit and welcome to the Lodge and the lake. Have some of the free popcorn, it's on me! Bobby Bass

I have been seeing the lodge more and more on my journeys and I have to say that you all seem like a fine bunch. One day, I might have to look into becoming a member.

I'll pick up what's left of the Turkey on Friday night; I may even pass out a bump or 4...  Oh yeah, sorry about leaving the crowd deaf for a couple hours after the races, I thought the straight pipe was a good idea at the time.  Who would have thought they would have been disappointed that there weren't any wrecks, though?

The men at the bar look at each other, Bobby says" That was scary"  Elmer pitches in with " How did she get past the trip wire and the cans with rocks in them" Hank shruggs his shoulders and along with Skinny go back to bobbing for the last bobber.

TNT, we are just reporting about our wonderfull piece of Heaven on earth.

The door on my fish house flung open and it was Bertha! Her eyes were red like fire and steam was pouring out the top of her head. Then a loud scream, "Where is he!" and then she was gone.

A short while later I heard some comotion over at Nytlyters hut.

TNT, have a look at the Lake Iwannabethere history thread, and prepare for some hefty reading.  It'll be enjoyable, though; I can guarantee it.  You might even want to set the stage with a strong fire in the fireplace and your favorite libation in hand.  You'll figure it out soon enough, and then you can advance to the Lake IWTBT thread, and get caught up on current events.  Enjoy!

ok well there was this tornado or something that just about ripped the door off of my shack. and this i think it was a lady, (and i use that term loosely) that resembled drew carey's nemmissis from his show. starts screaming at me about barney, not the dog. her breath threw and pinned me to the back of my shack. i as politely as i could pointed towards the old mill on shore. and as she stompped away the water in the holes went up and down as if a very heavy truck had just driven by, thinkin to my self "what the heck was that" . i sat back down to some fishing but did have to crack the wondow a bit to clear the air. i think i might even have to put on a new pair of shorts as i may have stained them a bit from the furocious supprize. ... paul

Lodge is  a busy place this morning. Both fireplaces are going and the bar well there is hardly any empty stool to park at. Guys are making small bets of nickels and dimes on who is who as they come up the steps to the lodge. Everyone is bundle up in there finest new winter and Christmas fashions. Scarfs cover faces and the really cold winter hats sit on heads making them unrecognizable. For today at least, winter is here.

Well from time to time here at the Lake we get someone new.  I would like to take the time to introduce Bailiff, Sheriff Tim's new dog. Not a puppy, actually far from it. Bailiff hails from down south where he was a working dog with Tim's cusin, a Mississippi sheriff.  Seems Bailiff has a small drinking problem.  His job was tracking and catching revenuers and he got to liking the taste of shine. He was given an early retirement and sent up north for his health and to get him out of the parish. Sheriff Tim, being dog less welcomed him to his cabin and now Bailiff will be doing ride alongs with Tim. So if you see a rather large tan bloodhound with a lot of extra skin hanging from him and some very red eyes that will be Bailiff. Just keep your hand over the top of your glass. From Lake Iwanttobethere (323)
