How many of you are planning on taking your bow out turkey hunting this year?  I did not send in for MN this year because I could not find a place to go but, I will get drawn for WI and am planing on just taking the bow again this year.

A few of the kids that are going to hunt the youth turkey hunt are going to use their bows, most are gonna use shot guns.

I was thinking of turkey hunting this year but haven't looked into it yet.  Also not sure if I'd use bow or gun.  I'll have to practice with each to decide.

If you get a tag automatically with bow, then there's no question - Im in like Flint.

Yes you can bowhunt the last two seasons in spring by just walking up and buying a tag and stamp but they are hard to hunt because the birds are not as interested or all henned up by then. Tough hunt but any bearded bird then with a bow will be a great accomplishment

Here's a link to the regulations for the 2008 archery turkey hunt.  It's in pdf and I'm not enough of a techie to figure out how to copy it right into this page.

My step dad does this an I thought he said it depends on the area? Said something about only in areas that give out so many permits? I havn't looked myself so don't know.

I believe you can hunt the last two weeks with a bow only in areas that had 50 or more tags available.  But to be positive make sure you check with the DNR.

I have been watching the DVD's given when you buy a Double Bull Blind and man it looks like so much fun with a blind and some decent decoys seems like such a rush but i guess you need alot of patience for the birds to come around. Also a head shot with a guillotine tip would be the best.
have fun you lucky boys and girls
