got back form going down to see her, i got to see the infectious disease doc and question her! what i posted yesterday maybe worst case scenario but still a chance. right now its wait and see how the cultures do. they think just maybe it could be a different infection...... this first part of the week they will get together and figure out a game plan. her surgeon is one that doesnt like pushing off patients to others so he is going to be the major decider in things. the infectious disease lady said he's one of the best there with the most experience and pretty much heads up these team strategy plans.

word on the street is she's going home tomorrow. a bit of a dilemma though. mom is coming back home tomorrow morning, she's having issues so i'm taking her to st cloud ER in the morning.

with Sue sounds as there not putting in the spacer and starting over.  she will be coming home with a picc line, still deciding the med she's gonna be using. with possibly long term antibiotics. of course continued trips to see infectious disease people!!

man talk about a whirlwind of emotions yesterday.  first went to see the infectious disease doc......man was she a cutie.  but i did pay close attention. they seem to think they can keep this MERSA infection under control, will probably be long term antibiotics.

got done there and headed just down the road to see the surgeon, well he's running behind, like 45 minutes!!!! while we are waiting i get an email from mom, wants me to come up so she can talk to me. got into see the surgeon, they take one of the 2 drain tubes out, one stays in for another week, then he hits us between the eyeballs.  tells us he doesnt think the infection will ever go away and may get worse..6 months a year or 2 later. when that happens there going to need to take the hip out and she'll not have a hip and be basically wheelchair bound for life. SUE told me if that happens just shoot me....not going on like that!!!!!!! yea i aint shootin anybody!!!!!

we get home and i go up to moms. she has an  appt earlier with her primary. she tells me he said there is a tumor by her gall bladder and its working/active. he explained that is why her stomach keeps filling with fluid. he gave her a prescription for the sh!itz. i realize its the same meds my wife is taking for MERSA, mom has an infection in her stool.  she also said something about 6 months to a years, maybe longer..........well i took it as to live. i didnt ask more and she didnt elaborate.

i need to drink tonight. none of it will go away but for a short period i can relax.

That is a lot to digest.  Try to take it one thing at a time if that is possible.  Yes sometimes a drink or two does help.
