I took the following pictures this weekend from a deer stand.  It is over looking a field far back off the roads.  Great location to watch natures show.  The first two are looking south out on the field and the last one was taken to the north.

Just in case you like to be a little farther back in the woods, here are some shots from another deer stand.  I took these last Saturday morning.  The land in in central Minnesota, eastern Morrison County.

Those are some nice clean views of the area. It must be nice to shoot through that. Most of the areas I hunt are thicker than you know what, and don't have any nice trails for the deer to cross or use.

Looks to be a great area Deadeye, nice pics! I hope to carve out some time this weekend to get out and do some pre hunt scouting in our woods also, I'll try to get some pics from my stand and post over the weekend. My views are very similar to yours with the heavy trails crossing around my stand and some nice clear shooting lanes. Good luck this season!   :happy1:   :fudd:

Looks great Dead Eye.  I really like the one where the 2 trails come together like a Y.

...and Scott, I have some pink tape left you can borrow this weekend while you are out scouting in the woods, ....I heard you ran out last year, and I wouldn't want you to get lost AGAIN or anything like that!  This year, just try and tie it around every OTHER tree on your way to your stand and you won't go through as much... Just trying to help you out..... :whistling:

Ok, if you don't like the open field hunting or the one back in the woods a bit, here are some shots I took yesterday while watching a food plot.  We were really late in getting this planted.  Most of what you see is turnips and rape with some chicori and clover.  The deer have been eating the grass and clover but we need a good freeze before they go after the turnips and rape.  It seems they need a good freeze to make them sweet.

Then some days you just need the wide open view of a big swamp.  (notice the two orange pips?) They are 228 yards away.

Deadeye - Do you take shots across that swamp? Whats the longest shot you'd take from there? Just curious.

jcameron, good question.  Below are another views from the same stand.  The first was taken taken more to the right than the one with the two orange pips.  The point you see in the top left is about 225 yards away.  As you follow down to the right, the wood line goes down to around 200 yards at it's closest before it starts getting farther away.  The second one is more to the right than the first.  The left side of the woods is just over 200 yards and I don't know how far it is to the woods in the bay.  (I guess around 350-400 yards).  Although you can see much farther, I generally won't shoot much over 200 yards.  I took the last picture of a buck crossing the swamp from the same stand.  For one reason or another, during the 9 day rifle season, I only spent two hours in this stand.
