Here is our own Superstar with his almost completed mounts. He spent 7 days and a couple evenings with me to complete these mounts. This is about what you could expect to complete in 7-10 days of instruction depending on your learning ability, general knowledge of taxidermy, and tanned hides with good measurements. If you would like more information do not hesitate to contact via email or telephone for prices and available dates for instruction.

How many days are these things?

Griz,
It depends on what you want to do. I have had some that just want to do a weekend and put a bird together. I have had guys like superstar that wanted to learn a bit more and do a couple weeks. I have also had guys that wanted to learn it all and spent 3 months with me. It just depends on what you want to learn and how well you want to learn it. For example, most people that want to mount a Whitetail can be done in 2 days or less if they have a tanned cape and just want to put it together. If you want to learn from start to finish about whitetail you could spend a couple weeks or more. Lets say you want to mount a pheasant. I could walk most people through in 1-2 days. But if you wanted to really know something it would take a couple weeks and a few upland birds to really sink in. So if you have an interest in something particular give me a call and we can work out a schedule and estimate on cost.

Rob's almost finished breast mount, working on his strutting bird, and the final day leaving with almost completed mounts. Rob will have a little homework grooming these birds as they finish drying along with a bit of paint work! Great job Rob!

Cool Pics.

Where do you get your students from mostly? Word of mouth? And on average how many per year. Just curious.

Thanks!  :happy1:

Mostly word of mouth. As far as a number it depends Tim. I get several weekend or 3 day types. They are mostly sportsman like yourself that want to say they mounted their own trophy. The last one like Mr. Ramsholm that stay for a week or more and are looking to learn more really vary. I have had two so far this year and have one more scheduled for 10 days this summer. Many are repeat. Once they learn one thing they may come back for more. I think it has more to do with my wife's cooking than my instruction however! ;)

Here is a photo of what our March student Ryan completed in about 3.5 days. Ryan will be returning in about a week to do some fish work we also started after he finished up his whitetail shoulder mounts.
