Hey Cody, Pat and I got out Saturday morning before the rain to shoot weeks 3 & 4.... we did alright... but be warned,  There are three rabbit stations and the dock station is a springing teal that goes straight up over the pond...  :happy1: Pat & I thought it was one of the toughest/funnest course set ups Chris has done since we've been shooting there.... You'll have a blast... no pun intended. :whistling:

Hey Cody.... remember the raised deck/platform on that station?  Thats a rabbit station now.... watch out for the bouncing targets and take your shot before they get to that dirt pile in the middle of the open area!  Those rabbit targets were bouncing 3-4ft in the air somtimes!  You'll have lots of fun... ;)  Bust em all!  Let me know how ya did.... :happy1:

I concur.  Very good targets this month.  It's the first time in a long time that I absolutely zeroed a trap and left confounded.  Luckily they were on doubles coming from two different throwers, so at least I hit a few on the station.  I think I will go back out if I have time and shoot 50 targets, but only from the stations I had trouble with.  Overall, I think I was lucky to get out of there with a 74/100.  Dang Greg picked up a half dozen targets on me, though, and that sucks 'cause there's nothing I like better than beating up on a stacked gun shooter.  Just kidding Greg, I really like to see my team mates shoot good; I just like to be better. ;D Anyway Cody, just relax and take each station individually.  It's one of those set ups where a newer shooter could see a couple of zeros and still run stations.  There is a huge variety of target speeds out there this time.  Don't get frustrated at one station and allow it to carry over to the next station.  Good luck.

Yeah, Im plannin on shootin it on saturday, they put ya in five or six man squads... some guys from our team might be shooting too... sunday the 1st is the last day to shoot weeks 3 & 4.(if ya miss shooting, ya dont get into the gun drawings at the end of the year, FYI, not to mention the squad dropping out...) but I think you can shoot league rounds the same day as the RGS shoot.  Look up:www.twincitiesrgs.com ... click on the shoot, thats my shooting bag in the photo for the shoot! (at least my bag is famous!) :whistling: Im thinking the RGS shoot will be the same targets as our league rounds, but dont Quote me on that... I wonder if they will let ya use that shoots scores as our rounds if thats the case.  I dont know... ya could call Debbie/the clubhouse to see, but let me know what ya want to do, or if ya need me to pull targets for ya. :happy1:

Kevin from our squad is gonna do the RGS deal on Sat. He thinks the RGS shoot will be on the other course (on the opposite side from where weve been shooting) where weeks 5&6 will be so it'll be a sneek peak of those rounds, if he's right.  Kevin said he's gonna shoot 3 & 4 after the RGS deal is over, at like 1pm or so. he hasnt shot it either... I may stay and pull targets if no one else is there to.  Havent talked to any other guys on the squad , but I'll get back to ya. Yeah its $70, but ya get two boxes of shells, food & if ya shoot the side games to get raffle tickets, ya win really cool stuff usually... and its really nice that ya get to kind of preview next weeks league targets... :happy1:

your right those rabbits are wicked fun,  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: never though targets that you could reach out and hit with your gun could be so hard to hit, well may have to try harder, i wont be happy until i start shooting in the 40's, but even then ill still strive to shoot a perfect, just got to figure out those rabbit stations and station 14 then i think ill be in the 40's because most of the other targets i missed, were because i got sloppy and they all were the last target also! see you on the 14th i think it was?

Cody, I knew you'd like those wabbits! ;) I looked up our squads past scores,  Pat shot a 47/50 once, my best is a few 46/50 rounds.... we usually average around a 40 for the year. (remember this is our 10th year shooting leagues at WM)  Its weird, when ya get those higher scores, Its definatley a "being in the zone" thing like ya always hear... I think you have a forty or two in ya before the summer's over, but dont put too much pressure on yourself... it'll come sooner than later and when it happens, it happens! :happy1:  I cant imagine shooting a fifty... just think about the pressure you'd have on the last station knowing that if ya miss one, its over.... Ive shot a bunch of 50/50's in skeet and 5-stand, but doing it in sporting clays would be unbelievable.  There's a plaque in the club house with the names of  a handful of guys that shot 50's.  That guy we shot with at that RGS shoot, Jim, has done it at least once.  The only difference between us and them is they shoot more than us.  Its like we said before, work on the stuff were not good at, practice makes perfect... or at least much better... :whistling:  I think were on for Saturday... I'll see who's all planing on going....

ok well the more pressure i put on myself the harder i work to get better lol. but yeah i liked all the info kevin and jim gave me i beleive it helped. ill be there for sure on saturday. i have to go to gander to get a new choke key, the choke i got in there isnt coming out very easily and it stripped the key and i need to finish taking it out so i can clean it. and i am aiming for the 50/50 so im going to be working harder.

Do ya mean to re-shoot weeks 5 & 6?  I'll have to look, but ya cant shoot weeks 7& 8 till about the first of the month sometime... Wild Marsh is hosting the state small guage tourney this Friday - sunday so theres no league shooting there this weekend.  Im shooting in the 20g category there on saturday am with my SxS, so Im hitting Metro GC by my place to practice on friday.  Its cool to see ya pumped up Cody... I think its too late for you to turn back now, YOURE HOOKED! :rotflmao: :happy1: Yeah you shot really well Saturday... way to go bro!  You could re-shoot 5 & 6, but those were pretty good scores for ya... but all practice is great... One of the sheets they hand out and the website shows the league schedule and the dates when ya can shoot the different weeks and when there are tourneys goin on & when theres no league shooting....  I gotta hit the store & get both 12 & 20g shells tonight, there goes my life savings! :whistling: when are ya goin out of town/what weekends are free for ya after this weekend to shoot?

ill be gone july 3rd to the july 10th. then the following weekend is the fun shoot july 19th. i suppose i could do my league then. yeah i was pretty bumed that i didnt get atleast a 75, i kinda messed up some bread and butter shots and the last station i messed up big time, i should of had a perfect 6 on like 4 or 5 of them but i think about it and try not to mess up then i do. maybe next friday will only be practice, i want to shoot the green course again, i liked that one and i want to poke around that long shot station. ill let ya know for sure
