I stank up the 20g event with my SxS, thats what I get for shooting my 12g all the time... but I made up for it on the 12g event, shot 85% on that, dont know where I came out yet though. Should be good Im hoping... Give me a yell when ya get back.

Damn! I came in 2nd in my class (in the 12g event) and missed 1st by three shots... :banghead: That means no punches(to move up in classes) but won a few buckolas... which is better than nuthin... I gotta shoot more here the rest of the summer to gear up for the state sporting campionships in august.  Havent been shooting as much this year as in years past due to gas & shell prices!  Time to make up for lost time & try to kick some butt! :taz: Cody, at the end of July they have the wild marsh Cup where we shoot, ya should think about shooting it in hunter class, I think youd do well & have a  :censored: load of fun.... look it up on WM's website.... :happy1:

Nope... not that much $$, but it all helps! :happy1:  Cody, I aint shooting this weekend cause the WM site says ya cant shoot weeks 7 & 8 till the middle of next week, so give me a yell If you're home & ya can get out the weekend before the MNO fun shoot.  Ive actually got out a few times to Metro GC to practice... I want to get out this weekend and try their duck tower course, brush up on those looong shots that I dread so much.

Hey Cody... I think we'll try to shoot our league rounds next weekend at the fun shoot, Pat wasnt able to go early Saturday, thats ok, my wallet's a tad thin for this weekend anyhow... are we shooting one or two rounds for the fun shoot?  If we shoot just one, I suppose we can do the second one after its over...

i may reshoot this one, i dropped 3 targets, and i dont feel very good with 67 being my score. i may have to accept it, even though i dont like it.

That aint a bad score Cody,  Ya gotta take yer lumps, but yeah I know ya can top that.  It seems the first year in leagues ya shoot kind of inconsistant and then things even out.  The good thing is it shows ya the kind of shots ya need to work on. :happy1:

Its funny how that works sometimes.... Perfect example, Kevin, on our squad, shot a 48 on week # 7 on saturday... remember those really, really slow rabbits?  thats where he missed the two targets!  Otherwise he would have shot a perfect 50.  Stuff like that always happens...maybe ya take easy stuff for granted, get a little laid-back on the easy targets getting ready for the tougher ones...who knows... with me, its not concentrating alot of the time, and that doesent mean ya cant be having fun, it just means that when I get in the box, before I say pull, I need to get my head screwed on straight and know what I want to do, and have a basic plan and then carry that through till yer done for the day.  I shot a 44 on that first round on saturday, and it felt like I wasnt "on it" at all... got a 3 of 6 on that station where the targets came straight at ya from way across the field! :banghead: Man, its a really fine line between havin a good average day, and a great one, but I guess thats what keeps ya goin & trying to get better each time we go out,eh? ;)

yeah ill settle for this score, but thats because i dont want to spend another 32 dollars then 50 on gas. so ill just take what i got.

Hey, what's with the "I'll re-shoot" stuff.  I didn't know there was a sport where if you don't like your score or what you did, you get a "do over".    :party1:  :rotflmao:
So, just how do you get those ducks, pheasants and grouse to swing around and do another fly by for your second chance.  :fudd:

***I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it.***

On our league team, you can re-shoot a score up to two times, but ya have to take/keep that score... and it cant be the same day.  I think the ranges do this to make more $$$. ;) But honestly, Ive done it in the past and picked up a few points, but Ive also dropped points re-shooting... and then it aint so cool! only one guy on our squad this year re-shot one score, but ya look at the squad sheets on the wall in the clubhouse, and some of the better teams will be full of re-shoots.  It must be nice to be able to afford all that shooting... that and living so close to the range!  Im just glad I live a half an hours drive from our range other wise I'd probably be more tempted.... :whistling:

Hey Deadeye... I knew there was a sport with a second chance, didnt come up with it right away... In golf its called a mulligan! :rotflmao: a re-shoot is just a bigger mulligan... :whistling:

Atta boy Roosterslayer!  Cody, I knew we'd hook some MNO folks! :happy1:  Roosterslayer, I know we'll need at least one more person next year on our Boomstix squad, maybe more... & youre more than welcome to shoot with us!  If we fill up with more MNO guys we'll just start another squad! You shoot two rounds a month for 5 months in the summer, May-September, 500 rounds total, so its not that hard to get out once a month...  We shoot in the 5-man league(up to 8 on a team, ya keep the top 5 scores on the team). Theres also the two-man buddy league...

great i think the more mno ppl we have the more ampted the staff would be to sponsor us. deadeye great calling for the ducks and a great dog and marking were the pheasant went down  ;D but i aint going to reshoot its costs me just about 80 dollars every time i go out there between the 32 for the clays gas and shells, so im a little hesitant to go out there more than 1 time a month

I dont know Cody... Now that we made the AA group with our squad, we might have to make re-shooting manditory from here on out! ;) :rotflmao: That or see if we can hire ringers to shoot for us... Jim Klein comes to mind... hell, we'll just get Tad & Kevin to shoot our scores, they shot a 48 & a 49 this year!  Come to think of it, we gotta "thank" them for putting us in AA... THOSE BASTARDS!!! ;)

Hey Cody...  league weeks 9 & 10 can be shot after August 5th.... are ya able to shoot Sat. Aug. 9th?  I cant the weekend of the 16th, state clays championships at Prior Lake that weekend.  Pat cant make it on the ninth, Id like to get it in and then have the last part of Aug to re-shoot if need be... ;) Its weird our last outing is comming up (besides the banquet shoot) And the State shoot is here, seems like Im just gettin warmed up! :banghead:

Hey Greg,

I took the day off today to scout a new spot 10 miles from my house.  It's way cool.  Daisy jumped a rooster right away.  Then I walked about a mile barefoot in a creek.  Then I went through the middle of a swamp full of saw grass in shorts; my shins are shredded (now are you starting to see where my nickname comes from?)  There were deer trails in there that looked like dirt bikes had come through they were so tore up from the hooves. Then to top it off, on my way back to the truck (GPS aided) I saw six turkeys.  Awesome!  Give me a call this weekend.

I'd rather go this weekend even though pat cant go, I may go with him also later, but I want to make sure I get those rounds in, I hate putting it off too late in the month, plus it'll be good practice for the State shoot the following weekend.  Ill see if Kevin & Tad want to shoot also...  let me know.
