Ok I think we have given the other teams a good head start. Some have even taken advantage of are generosity  :doah: . So now, I think we should head out this weekend and drop some deer. I think 350 points
should just about do it.  :toast:

I was out Sat. and Sunday morning and like always the deer were cruising earlier into the woods due to the abnormally warm weather. Sunday I ended up spotting three bucks. Two smaller four-six pointers, and one tall racked eight.

The bucks were chasing does out in the field near where I hunt at about 5:00 a.m. when I pulled in, and both the two smaller ones were cruisin checking my mock scrapes, and getting pushed around by the eight pointer.

Should be a cold, wet weekend and the deer hunting should be top notch for us all. I'm not going gun season until muzzleloader this year so I will be out there with orange on with my bow.

Good luck to you all this weekend!

At work we have a golf tournament each year and the looser team gets a trophy with a golfer and his club is bent over his back.  It's pretty funny :rotflmao:

I am sure all your hard work will pay off this weekend!!!!!  I myself have went several years in the past and never even seen a deer   But I keep trying every year!!!!!

And if you don't you have many many many more weeks to sit out on your stand with your bow and  :cold:  At some point I am sure the deer will feel sorry for you and one wil be voted as the sacrifice!!!!

Talking big 'cause you already downed a skinhead. :applause:

Yes you are right there are a ton of weekends left to sit. Unfortunately after the  :army:
goes through for the next few weeks and scares the crap out of the deer they end up bieng a tad harder to  :archery:

It is still fun though......if i shoot one don't tell my wife, she will think I am done for the season!

I played hooky for about two hours from work this morning. Beautiful morning with the snow falling, wind blowing, coyotes running......s.o.b.! :banghead: :banghead:

Had two coyotes prowl through, probably scared up the deer and made them jittery. I shot one arrow at the lead 'yote, he was about 55 yards away moving, needless to say I missed.

Half hour later a nubbin buck, and a yearling came through at about 50 yards.

Great morning to be out, wish I could've stayed all day!

Great minds think alike. I am going to play hooky as well and head out this afternoon it’s really not my fault! It’s the last chance to let arrows fly before the guns go off. Then add in the snow factor and the temp drop and I have no choice.  :archery:

Some might call it a sickness I call it keeping sane. For an archer this could be the best day of the year. Besides, I might sit in Tim’s stand and get his buck today and leave a pile under his stand for him to find tomorrow morning  :rotflmao:

Had a 8 come in, about a 110 to 120 class at 40 yards. Watched him for about a half hour till he walked away. Then a small 6 walked right under the stand.

Then just before dark a big doe came by, at about 50 yards...just a little to far in the thicket...  :banghead:

Good news    :deer:    :green archer:

Playing hooky paid off I got 100 points hanging outside.
I was settled in around 2:30
Seen a doe to far out to shoot about 3:30
Then at 4:00 I turned and there was a doe about 70 yd
Out in the field, heading my way. When she disappeared into the brush
Between her and I. I got ready and she came out on the same trail about 30 yd
From me and the arrow was on its way. With a good pass though
She only went 10 to 12 yds and piled up in the brush in view of me.

I got out of there as fast as I could and cleaned her up across the field
So I would not spook any more deer. As I am using that same stand in the morning

Nothing better than watching them hit the dirt and knowing 100%
They are down

I will get a pic up tomorrow

Well, I guess I'm on the board with a 35 yard shot, complete pass-through on a deer.

The deer circled downwind of my decoy, didn't even hear it come in with the wind whippin like it was this morning. It ran about fourty yards after I put the arrow through him and he crashed through a bunch of stuff when he piled up.

I walked up to him and checked to see where the exit hole and entrance hole was, and I looked down at the bottom side and said "NUTS"! Piss me right off if I didn't shoot a nubbin buck. :puke:

So Grute, if we are docked points for shooting immature deer who haven't had a chance to grow horns yet, delete this post. :tequila; Alex

:happybounce:  WOW this team had a pretty good day.  HD had lots of action just didn't connect -- YET.  You will buddy.  Bowhunter73 scored a doe and dropped her within eye sight -- thats a great feeling; good for you man.  Then 22Lex, don't worry.  You wont be docked but only because we like you.  Otherwise, we'd have to vote you off the island.  Seriously, I'll have to check the rule book but right off the top of my head, I think someone else shot the same thing and it scored as a doe (no scoreable points.)  Hey, that'll be some good eatin.  Im glad you made a clean kill.  Also, if you get a bigger one later, you can cull it yourself.

OK I'll adjust the points befoe I hit the rack tonight.

Good job Rack Attack     :deer:    :green archer:

Good shooting, it looks like there is hope for us yet.

I am fully confidant that hunterdown will bring in at least another 100 points.
I like this contest. I know it is just for fun but it does make it a bit more interesting

Also, that is a great pic with the little guy.  :spongebob:  I know that look in his eye; he is already counting the days until he can go  :archery:

Well, I guess I'm holding the team up...........

We sat out this morning and neither of us saw anything.
Daughter got cold cause the wind was still wiping and colder than yesterday.
She got down out of her stand, and I got out of mine.
We had lunch and warmed up.
Then for the afternoon hunt, she saw one in the swamp that she couldn't get a shot at.
And the only thing I saw came in when it was to dark to tell what it was. (just a silhouette)

Wanted the kid to get one first.....guess I better camp out in the stand tomorrow, she has school.

Well Scott (bowhunter73) went out that night and he did shoot a doe! I looke din the scoring and it said that he shot a faw buck:

Team #8 -- "Rack Attack": - 200 points
22Lex -- one doe - 100 points
Hunterdown
Bowhunter73 - Fawn Buck -- 100 points

Not sure if that is correct so Don better look into that. Anyways....we have been trying to take a picture for days. One day the camera isn't working and the next we just forget. well tonight as we are finishing up the butcher job we realize that we still do not have a picture so you get to see a little blood.

Well, the daughter had school today so I got to sit in the "condo"

It was a beautiful morning, no wind, frresh snow on the ground and not to cold.
I made a pot of coffee this morning and filled my thermos thinking that I was going to sit all day.
8:00 a.m. rolled around and I looked to the northwest shooting lane and there were 2 doe's standing, one just infront of the other.......

I pulled up the gun and shot the first one, it ran right up to the base of the stand and fell over. The other one stepped out to watch it run, so I whacked her too!

BBBOOOOYYYYAAAAA !!!!!!

You can chalk up a couple for team RACK ATTACK!

(Sorry I couldn't be in the pic cause I was hunting by myself)
