Ya, Mickey's for sure.  I just had a 12 pack that my brother gave me.  Turkey day will be at my daughters house [the youngest].  Somehow I got coned into buying everything and cooking everything.  Well I did tell them to get dessert and the adult beverages.  Got a 24 pounder for the group.  Making my stuffing which probably is the favorite for evryone.  Mashed potatoes, corn and some good gravy.  Pies and other goodies and watching the Vikings beat the kittens.  good luck.

Got the pie crusts all made, including the 1/2 sheet pan for the fruit tart for the young ones.

Got 18 eggs on the smomer for my experiment in deviled eggs.....  Be done in about 20 minutes.

Then on Thursday morning early off to burbs of St Paul for family thanksgiving.  Niece and husband just bought a new (to them) house so will get to see it.

Turkey or two, ham, my pies, and a bunch of other stuff.  Champagne and beer to start (not together, choice) .

Pies will be pecan, lemon chess, french silk.   Fruit tart is pate sucre, pastry cream (like in donuts reb) and fresh fruit.

yup, it dont take much, I use a apple, i think a harder wood like hickory, maple might not be to bad, ut you cna over smoke them to the point that it taste bitter, it not like smoming meat that can handle alot of smome. take a little playing around with. make sure after you peel them that their dry. smoke has a hard tiem penetrating throu moister.

My latest method, and it worked great, was to use a steamer basket and steam the eggs for 13 minutes.  (Bring water to boil so plenty steam before adding eggs to basket).  After 13 minutes put eggs in ice water to chill.

Peel eggs and put in weber with one of those amazin tube thingies filled with pellets.  light the pellets with a torch.     I gave them about 1 1/2 hours this time.    I rolled them over after about 45 minutes.   18 eggs.  At 69 cents a dozen I couldn't not do it.

Tomorrow I will half and make the filling.   Got horseradish, chipotle in adobo, siracha, texas pete, and other pungent stuff.
Thursday, fill the eggs.  Then eat them and have a glass of some adult beverage while the turkey is frying...

I saw on the TV the other day they called it Stress Giving instead of Thanksgiving.  I enjoy the get together but I must be getting old.  I really don't like leaving home during the colder months.  At least for longer periods.  I put the dogs in the barn with a heat lamp and a heated water pail and a big pail of food.  The cat is ok on her own in the house.  They will be just fine. (there I am calmer now)  ;)  We finally at my suggestion started having a family get together in Sept. (during bow season) so we don't have to worry about weather.  That is in place of a Xmas get together.  We may still do a Xmas thing if the weather is fine but we don't have to feel so obligated to get there now.  It is a 9 hour drive to mom and dads house.  Still hate not seeing them though.  SO there you go Stressmas..  I hear ya Glen.

For sure, he's already a little gassy without the chili. The furnace shouldn't have to run much tonight, unless we have to open a couple windows

I spose it doesn't matter, whatever they don't like will just get zapped anyhow.  The other night one got mouthy with reb, so we ganged up on him a little and someone didn't like it.

Was one of the liddle gurly boy mods, me thinks.  ;D I can't follow their psychobabble anyway. How they can turn any single subject into political, then argue about it continually, is beyond me.  I prefer to poke and joke. Sure, we (me) ramble and good up threads, but it sure is fun!! Ha!  :party1:

Well I survived. I hear you guys about the holidays sucking. I really used to look forward to Thanksgiving. We used to go get Mom and the dog we gave her as a puppy, then they'd stay and visit until the weekend. The last time was 2012. We also hosted the family Christmas that year and when she came back for that, we all knew something was wrong. She died in late June 2013 of congestive heart failure and the holidays just haven't been the same since.

Yesterday was better than it could've been. The food was good with much of it prepared by my nephew who's been cooking at some restaurants for a while. That was a positive. He's the same one as a kid who threw a hissy fit after showing one of our sheep at the State Fair when it didn't win. Even though it probably should've won that's how life works but I digress. Just glad to see he's maybe finally starting to get his head out of his butt. And besides, his girlfriend is kinda hot...lol

I don't miss hso one bit.  Sorry I even spent time over there.  I do miss some of the guy's over there and they are still trying to make me come back.  I told them thanks but no thanks.  Tell them to give this place a try.  Anyway,  this was my stuff on T day.  Everything turned out great and once again my stuffing was the most popular.  Made 10 pounds so everyone can take some home.  Kept some at home also for future meals here at home.  Looks like I'm going Muzzy hunting Monday.  Brother told me to get my arse up north for a couple of days.  good luck.
