Yes, you can move it. Long as you don't clip the core root you should be fine. I've moved my patch twice now and it has done well each time.
Where did I catch all these fish you ask??? right in the lip....

well got all the  stuff I wanted planted yesterday in the garden. had a fire drank  :toast: to........and the rows aren't even all that crooked!!!!!! :happy1: :happy1: planted radishes, onions, kalarabi, spinach, and lettuce.

in a couple weeks i'll plant more radishes and kalarabi. planned where the maters and cukes go. looks like I gotz plenty of room for the rest on my stuff. GREEN BEANS, peppers, carrots, and pepper plants.

thinking of cutting back on or not planting cabbage, or celery.

I mulch the $hit out of it, burn it in the spring. Add a little mulch every year. Not perfectly clean but pretty good.
Some say to use salt. While asparagus is tolerant of it to much can kill it. Or cause disease. As for the roundup it is somewhat tolerant of that as well. Kinda like pine trees. Once the new growth on pine trees has gotten hard ( not that light green color) they can take roundup...asparagus is the same way. It won't like it, but once established it pry won't kill it either. I use to pick wild stuff on a fence line that has been hit with chemical for years and it still comes back every spring.

I dont normally have weeds in our patch,I started some more from seed to enlarge it this year.I wait till spring to cut old brown growth an rake old mulch out,Then the last mow of the yard in fall  I save that grass for mulch, after the old brown is cleaned out I mulch it 4-6 inches deep the asparagus comes up through the mulch an weeds dont. Once I fully cut what I think I can without killing the plants I mulch again an let er grow till next spring when the process starts all over
