 That will be fun for ya boar! On the small rivers near you,How long? Only thing I wish would be improved on yaks is PUT THE STORAGE or some forward where it can easily be reached while on the water

Its right at 10' anything longer has to be lisenced. Its a family thing, so at campapalooza i bought one from dakids so we will have 2

You sure about that?Can you direct me to the thing that say under 10ft no license. PLEASE!!! I got ticketed in my 9ft 6 inch I also went short not only for small water but license fees. I even complained that the sticker dont stick to polypropylene to the judge and DNR in court.They said mount a bracket

 A bracket would ruin the small water and be in the way in brushy areas.Finally got it to stick with chemicals and clear duct tape That was 6 years ago. I went for years not knowing it changed and you needed a sticker just like a boat. without numbers just the sticker with year. I need a new sticker UNLESS yer correct

Registration procedures
Register your new watercraft:
In person at any deputy registrar of motor vehicles  (where you license your car) or at the DNR License Center, 500 Lafayette Road, St. Paul, MN.
If your new boat (except kayaks or canoes) is longer than 16', your dealer will apply for title and registration (license) on your behalf, and is responsible for providing you with license materials.

When you register your boat for the first time, know its length, manufacturer, type of hull material (wood, metal, or plastic), type of propulsion, model, year, serial or hull identification number (HIN) and have a sales receipt that shows you have paid the sales tax.

Length is the straight-line distance from the foremost part of the boat (bow) to the rearmost part of the boat (stern). Bowsprits, outboard motor brackets, rudders and other attachments are not included in the measurement.

A watercraft license is not required for:
Non-motorized watercraft 10 ft or less, or a watercraft owned by a person from another state and that state does not require licensing of that type of watercraft and it is not within Minnesota for more than 90 consecutive days. See MN Boating Guide for more information.

Boat registrations are good for 3 calendar years (for example 1/1/2003 through 12/31/2005).

Tanks Reb! I gotta look at past boating fees I paid the fine and got a sticker and the DNR in court showed the written rule.Years back it was no fee then changed when yaks got popular and as I see yer post its back typical DNR rules

Awf quit being a bunch of tight azzes and give the DNR your money, I haven't used my snowmobile for 6 years and keep it up to date, same with my canoe, keep it up to date. We have a duck boat up nort that doesn't need to be licensed and mom still does it.
