Poor Cooper!   :undecided: I remember reading about that in James Herriot's vet/dog novels. Think it's called entropian or something where the lashes turn inward. That HAS  to hurt bad! Extra Milkbones tonite!

I think that is what they called it Rebs.  I have those books and haven't read them in 20 some years.  Should get back into them.  I liked the show on PBS too.

Hope Cooper comes out of this unscathed and am sure he will.  :happy1:

1 year and 2 days ago this great friend came into our lives.  It has been a blast and we love him so much.

See his tongue hanging out as a puppy.  That is an empty bottle of vermouth by him waiting for me to bring out to the recycling bin.  He was licking it.  LOL

Yes we got a few of them at Menards.  They are sturdy but yes they are a pain to vaccuum.

SO the wife bought these a month ago.  You give each of your dogs one morning and night with feedings.  They love them.  Takes 30 days to kick in they say.  After that long I don't hardly ever see Cooper eating poopcicles.  Well worth the try.  They are a breath freshener too.  LOL

So during the middle of the night Cooper started barking fiercely.  When a fox trots by and he smells them he barks but not like this.  He was standing on top of me and barking like all heck was breaking loose.  Then he started shaking like crazy.  I wonder if a coyote or wolf was outside?  Not sure if a bear would be around yet but he was petrified.  Took awhile to calm him down.

your dogs brother acts the same way sometimes, although we dont live in the boonies he gets wound up at times to different noises out side. the hair on his back stands straight up! he growls, ruffs and occasionally barks!

i've never really noticed it up at the cabin but a couple times, especially with all the different critters up there!!!!! and here i thought it was just my bonehead dog!!! :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

I can tell if there is a deer or something near them cuz Bucko our buckskin will stare it down and will even run towards the critter.

My dogs bark at turkeys and deer every day. I’ve also had them bark at a fox and it sounds the same.  But when a coyote shows up, their bark is much different. We also had a bear ramble through once and a pair of wolves another time. The bark then was similar to the bark with coyotes, but even more different. Almost like angry.
Amazing to go to the window when they bark inside the house and not see anything there, and then see deer a couple hundred yards in the distance.

A coworker had a bear in his yard already last week Barry. So that is a possibility.

I bet, my yellow got sprayed not good. I keep a skunk kit in the truck during the fall but I should have one at the lake also.
