  • 2015 deer contest champ!!!
 So, if it's really not good for the long term health of it's members the leadership of player's union should come out against it. But who tells the NFLPA what to be in favor of & what they shouldn't be in favor of? I believe they call it their Executive Committee along with their Board Of Player Representatives which each team has a active player elected to. I think there's even 2-3 players on the Executive Committee that are still playing too. If they agree to play another regular season game, what do they ask for in return? https://nflpa.com/about/nflpa-officers
i dont disagree with you Gunner.....the decision will come down to the players agreeing.

i still think its a money grab........ :surrender: for mybe both sides but more so for management.......like Goodell!!!! :doah:

I'm sure preseason games suck for veterans, no one wants to get hurt in one, but they are relatively easy games.  Whether there is 3 or 2 or 1, they serve a purpose for getting young players full speed evaluation.  Starting players play in them less and less these days regardless of how many there are.

I'd say...  You want 18 games?  Don't dicker about the number of preseason games.  Increase the percentage of the players' split of total NFL revenue, increase the salary cap, and increase the size of the 53 man roster so there are more players to cover 18 games.  Oh yeah, and while we're talking...  How about improving pension benefits?!?  Or better "back benefits" for guys who played in the league before the most recent collective bargaining agreements?

League management ain't goona wanna give away that much.

The league don't need more regular season games, they need a longer season - for more TV revenue.  Add another week to the regular season schedule, give each team an extra bye week.  And I don't care what they do with the preseason games.  Problem solved.
