Pegg you better have your runnin shoes on.  This kid's gonna give you a run for your money.     My 14 year old ALWAYS outfishes me.  It's because he has such a great teacher.

First time ice fishing. Live close to Lake Comfort and Green. Any ideas for a rookie.

On Green, we always fish on the north side of the narrows, I fish just off of the drop off for crappies.
I think it's about 40 to 50 yards away from the rocks sticking out.
Just drill holes in a line straight north, and check with a flasher till you find fish.
We always use demon glow jigs, not sure what color is hot this year, haven't been there yet.

Hi my name is Bob. I just found this site a few days ago and joined and I really enjoy it. I'm a young 65 years of age. I live in Maple Grove, MN  and grew up in Hopkins, MN. I'm married for going on 37 years I have 2 daughters, 2 son in laws and one "Grand Son" 17 months old. I have hunted and fished most of my life as my father was quite a sportsman and me being the oldest boy of 8 kids, 5 boys I got to go a lot. I have a place north of Park Rapids, MN with one of my brothers. We have had it for 26 years, nothing fancy just a place to keep dry and keep warm in the winter. We are not on a lake but tie in to 3300 acres of State and County land. Plenty of Lakes around us. We deer hunt, ice fish and summer fish up there. I was a plumber in the Minneapolis area for about 40 years and retired 2 years ago. I would probably be up there fishing right now but instead I'm recouping from my 3rd and final (I hope) back surgery. I getting all my gear ready now to fish but have to wait a couple weeks or so yet. I'm happy to have found this site and looking forward to a long run here.
