With the quarter of beef we bought we got some minute steaks.  Round steaks that are tenderized.  Wasn't sure what to do with them so found a fun recipe.  Lightly brown them then put in 9x13 pan and cover with onions, mushrooms and a jar of gravy and some water and bake at 325 for an hour and a half.  Had a baked spud with it.  Turned out real good and will do it again.

So I opened a can of SPAM the other day.  I have been working on it.  A SPAM sandwich with ketchup and mayo.  A few pieces just cut off as a snack.  Just had a couple of pieces fried with eggs and toast this morning.  Still some left.  I will succeed to eat it all.  I can do it.

Try running a can of Spam, onion and pickles through the grinder. Mix with mayo and you have a great sandwich spread. Onion and pickles to your taste. Did it for one of the grandsons, he ate the whole works in one sitting. Think he was about nine or ten at the time. :happy1: :happy1:

Mom used take most of a can of Spam & chop it up, mix it with some chopped Valveeta cheese, & add a little Cream of Mushroom soup too. Then spread that on 1/2 a hamburger bun & put it the oven on broil.  We still make that once in a while & there's a mac salad we have that gets some Spam as well. I would guess we probably go through 3-4 cans a year.

My mother-in-law raised 4 girls and 2 hungry boys on a farm.  If she bought a box of "expensive" name-brand cereal, the boys would finish it off in one sitting.

Her solution...  Buy a bag of generic puffed rice, and that stuff would sit up in the cupboard for months.   At least there was always food in the house that way.   :bonk:

Funny you should mention breakfast food Steve.  I was thinking that as I was writing the hot dog thing.  My brothers and I could eat breakfast food like it was air.  And yes the name brands of it we could kill in a sitting.  And yes we did end up with the bags of stuff so it would last longer.   :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
