My name is John Cameron. I'm 19 and I live in Anoka with my wife and son, with another one coming. I work as a maintenance tech. at lofthouse bakery. I'm finishing a degree in robotics/ industrial contolls. I fish throughout the seasons and hunt everything my budget will allow. Thankfully, though, I do buy most of my equipment second-hand so I do have the means to hunt just about everything in Minnesota. My father isn't much of a hunter, so I learned most of what i know about the outdoors the best way; the hard way.

Ok here goes!  I'm Dave.  39 yrs old.  Married w/children.  Boy 11, girl, 8, and boy 3.  I absolutely love outdoors.  But deer hunting is the best.  I live in SW MN,  I've lived here for 17 years.  I am originally from the northern most part of WI.  Still have family up there, one of which is a deer/bear guide.  So I pretty much have it made come deer season.  I'm happy to have found this site, seems to be alot of fun people here.

Yo all.

Just turned 51 two days ago but mentally never made it past 17!
I live near WHite Bear Lake with my family. We all shoot. hunt and fish, as well as take extensive roadtrips (Last July we did route 66 all the way).
Daughter at college in New York (Cornell) and Son here at Century in WB Township. Deer season opens Saturday and we'll be out in the woods.

More guns and fishing equipment than we know what to do with but as long as the family is having fun as a family, that's what counts!

Looking for a cabin in Northern minnesota or Wisconsin but haven't found the right one yet!

Been shooting since I was a bit shy of four years (Grandpa believed in early training with a pellet rifle) and now teach Gun Safety at Oakdale gun club in Lake Elmo as well as being certified as an NRA instructor for RIfle, Shotgun and Pistol. My family and I use every opportunity we can to get out in the woods and enjoy the woods for what they are, and those who never get out and just SIT in November or December really are missing a neat piece of nature!

ANd the DNR is really looking for more instructors RIGHT NOW, so if you are pretty good with kids and have shot or hunted for a few years, give it some thought.....it's your chance to put something back and help others out!

My son would like to do more duck hunting so I guess we'll rebuild the blind at our hunting property next summer. He'd also like to do more Pheasant hunting but we laqck a place to go for that.....maybe South Dakota? Anyone have a great location for Pheasant that you might want to trade for a day of fun shooting machine guns (another of my hobbies!). And I really am a Postal Worker, too! (It's ok, I'm stable and relatively happy!!)

a\Anyway, that's our nutty family in a nutshell.

Nice to find a site such as this.....hope everyone stays safe this hunting season!

Hey Postal,
If you just turned 51 you should look into the lifetime licenses.  Big price drop from 50 to 51.

Hey All!   :newhere:

Lets see about me....Well I'm Kaylene, 27 with a 1 1/2 year old yellow lab Morgan (as close to kids as I'm getting for a while).  I currently own and run 2 businesses in Frazee.  I have a Sign Shop that has been running for over 8 years and this spring started a Bait & Tackle business.  My dad had one previously but for health reasons sold it, then they went under and I can't see this small town going without one, so here I am.  When I'm not putting in the hours at the bait shop I'm out fishing with my dad as often as he feels up to it.  And now that fall is upon us hunting is all around!  3 more days til deer hunting!!!!   :dancinred:  I thinks thats about everything interesting with me LOL  Everyone have a safe and fun Deer season!!

I will introduce myself.  My name is Grant, and I'm from Maplewood, MN.  I obviously love to hunt and fish, with more time spent fishing, as my passion lies there a little more.  I love chasing pannies, eyes, cats, and esox, but love being on the water, be it hard water or open water and will chase whatever is biting.  My favorite body of water to fish is the St. Croix river, and spend a lot of water there, and fish Bald Eagle during the summer chasing muskies.  I am a new father, having a 14 month old son, who has already shown and interest in fishing as well as loves looking at pictures of whitetails and elk, so I am confident that I have a future hunter/fisherman on my hands, which I'm excited about.  If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
walleyes, pannies, esox, cats, I don't care, let's go fishing!!

Hello,

I'm fairly new to the this forum but have spent a lot of time fishing. I found this online a couple of years ago through Google and signed up. Didn't spend a lot of time here for some reason though. So now I'm here and posting away.  :whistling:

As for me, I grew up in North Dakota. I was a Boy Scout and spent a lot of time in the outdoors. I did a lot of camping and fishing with my parents as well. I did have another passion, which was music. So I tried to make it big in a band for a few years touring the upper Midwest. After that I moved to Omaha for some strange reason. Then move back to ND in 98 and got into computers. I moved to St. Paul in 2000 to continue my career and with all the lakes I re-lit my passion for fishing and the outdoors.

I've spent the last five years really dedicating as much time as I can to fishing and ice fishing. About three years ago I decided to make the St. Croix River my "home" water for the summer and have had great success out there with Walleye and big crappies. In the winter I like to explore a little more and go spend some time on the Croix out of Bayport but I spend a lot of time up in the Chisago area and on those lakes. I love to fish and meet new people. I really like getting new people out fishing and get them a good experience. I liked it so much that this year I started a guide service for the Croix in the summer.

I married a St. Paul girl and have made MN my home. We have a beautiful three-year-old daughter that we adopted on Christmas 2005. We also have an eleven-year-old girl that moved in with us the week before Thanksgiving and is going to be adopted by us during 2009. Family is my biggest passion so fishing sometimes takes a back seat. But as they grow I will get them all involved.

I look forward to meeting more people off this site and get out fishing with them.
Friends are like buttcheeks..........crap might separate them, but they come together in the end.

Thank you MNDeerStalker. I've been finding I like it here. Not quite as "woosified" as some other forums I've been on. Great folks and some familiar faces here.
