8" as of right now. Should see my roof....and the trees...driveway blown out, and roof raked 6' back from edge. Just slid off like it was on plastic...then *FOOMPF* Heaviest stuff I've seen in a long time. I need lunch, liquids, and half a bottle of pain pills. Enjoy, guys.

Some good news for a change. My health insurance deal went through saving us over a grand per month. Best of all it's $400/mo. less than the MN Sure nonsense I was denied at the last minute. Got the snow beaten into submission, did chores and a ewe I wasn't expecting to lamb yet had a dandy ewe lamb. Now if the Gophers would win tonight think I'd buy a lottery ticket...lol.

Mornin all, we have 23 to start. Bemidji reported 16 & snow early on. We had a few flakes yesterday but that was about it. After 3 days of the more normal temps the ice looks to be pretty good again. Checked the nearby PA yesterday & it was not in good shape. all tore up & still slushy in spots. We decided not to try our luck

as the wind picked up before we got out. The next 3-5 days look good so we'll see. Have a good 1

Morning all. 16* and lightly snowing here this morning. Hope that starts to freeze some of the water on the lake. Great news for you Dotch, unfortunately the gophers didn't come thru for you. At least you didn't have to waste you money on the lotto ticket. Not much new happening here. Have a good day all!

Still waiting for my first day on the ice. Thought it was this week but my wife needs the truck to go to work and stuck with the van. More room for her legs in the truck and I can't haul what I need to head for the ice. She's getting better so I'm hoping for next week. Got my seasonings and my vac bags so I'm ready to make ring bologna and try that jerky recipe out in my new smoker. Grand kids this weekend. Haven't had them for awhile because my wife wasn't ready for them as far as moving around like she would like. good luck.

One more ewe came in overnight and not one of the ones we were thinking it would be. Everyone is fine and no more newbies when I checked at lunchtime but it appears there are likely to be more soon. That's why we got the shearer and catcher lined up for Saturday. Once they're shorn at least we can see who's imminent and who's not. It also keeps the barn drier, the ewes give off more heat so it's warmer and the lambs can find the teat easier without having to fish through a bunch of wool. It also makes it more likely the ewe will lamb inside the shelter rather than dumping them outside in a snowbank somewhere. It's amazed me that all of them have been born inside thus far. Other years when they haven't been shorn, the ewes will lamb outside and the poor little buggers will get their ears and tails froze off!

So interesting hearing about the heat issues etc. with the sheep. Great to hear about the insurance too. TGIF although I work tomorrow. But I am the only one there so should be fairly peaceful. I hope. Gonna have some nice weather for a few days here. It has been a pretty darn good winter so far. Getting psyched about out trip to Laughlin that is coming up soon. The temp there was 51 yesterday. Thought it would be warmer there but that will still feel good I am sure. See ya all later.

Morning gents. 11* here this morning. We need the cooler temps to freeze up all the slush on the lake. Going to go to Baudette for dinner and a movie tonight. Thinking maybe going to Riverbend for dinner. Have not been there yet since the rebuild. We won't find out until tonight if we can cut wood tomorrow. The warm weather last weekend messed things up for the loggers. He said they would have a load ready for us for Sunday though. Hoping to do a load both days, but what is the worst. We would have to fish on Saturday. Not much else happening. Have a good one!

Morning guys, 16 here to start. Single digits overnight & a WNW wind the last couple so it's been a bit on the chilly side. Had 1 out on the bay late yesterday afternoon, it looked like he came out of the resort nearby. Not much else new here either. Hope you have a good 1.
