Sounds like a perfect place Glenn. Morning fellers. Beautiful morning to start the day here, 41* sunny and the lake is calm. Looked awesome with the sunrise. Not much else new here, just another day in paradise. Have a good one!

Had 43 & sunshine here early. Already got a couple irons in the fire so it'll be a short stay. I made it out on the lake for a bit yesterday, threw on my ice fishin bibs & it still wasn't warm out there. They're talkin 60's here for the next 3-4 days & a chance for some rain tomorrow. With glenn headed this way, we'll probably be a gully washer  & look like Reb's neck of the woods by the time he leaves. :doah: It sounds like the 2nd load of laundry is about done, so it's time to roll. Hope you have a good 1

Finally talked to the neighbor last night about keeping his yard up - at least while we try to sell our house.  I took the neighborly approach and asked if I could help him with is lawn or store some of his junk that's out there.  He blamed the rain for not mowing, but that's no excuse - we've mowed three times since the last time he mowed - we've had a few nice days in the last month for crying out loud - and he's got two boys that are old enough to operate a mower!  he said the tires will be gone today along with a broken baby gate that's been propped up on the side his house since the winter.  I told him to let me know if he needed any help and that I would be happy to pitch in and mow if he didn't have time.  Finally I asked if he would mind if I ran the weed whip down the edge of his house and he said it would be fine.  I have a 18V battery powered weed whip and I drain a whole charge on just one side of the property.  The thistles coming up were bigger around than my thumb, not to mention the other weeds coming up through his "landscaping."  All-in-all, I think he was thoroughly embarrassed that I had to talk to him about it, but I hope it's a wake-up call. The conversation was long overdue.

Yep, there were more than a few houses that we passed on because of what the next-door neighbor's property looked like.  Good luck with the sale.

Well done TL. Wish you were selling the place next to mine! Thought I had an hour to mow night before last and I got 55 minutes.

Thanks all,
Keeping my fingers crossed.  The report was that our morning showing went very well and that there may be an offer forthcoming.  And the neighbor didn't even mow or move the tires yet!!!! :bonk:

I just got done taking my HD antenna down off my roof. That will be coming with us to the new house.  Didn't like that job one bit - didn't like putting it up, either.  I don't have the proper safety equipment for that kind of deal, but my wife wanted to cut the cord on cable.  I told her I'm glad I almost died twice to save us $100/month!

Ain't that the truth! Mrs. Cheviot: Once we get all these sheep moved around it'll save us a pile on feed! Moi: Yup, after we fix my torn ACL, rotator cuff tears, dislocated hip, broken fingers and fractured ribs, what's not to like?

Well, lucky for us we're in a seller's market.  We've only been on the market for 24hrs, we've had 3 showings and already have 2 offers!!!  It can't be this easy - We've done the buying/selling thing 2 times before and both times were a nightmare.  It feels like something's about to go wrong, it CAN'T be this easy.  We didn't have to paint or anything... we basically just moved some already-boxed up stuff out to de-clutter and gave it a good, deep cleaning.  We won't know the details of the second offer until tomorrow, but I think we're in a pretty good spot! Thanks for letting me vent about the neighbor/house situation on here, it's really my only outlet - besides my wife - and she's tired hearing about it. :cheesy:

Sometimes we over think things and make them harder than they have to be.  The older I get the more I realize that this is the case.

Mornin gents, 47 to start our day. Suns shining & there's a pretty good ripple on the water already. I think we have a trip into GR on the schedule again today, as my brothers bike is done & we need a few groceries. Tomorrow will most likely be zoo like, with all the holiday weekenders, so it's best to beat the rush. I wanted to get out :fish2: yesterday pm but didn't go as the wind became a bit of a issue about 3 or 4, hopefully later today. Heading towards 70* the next couple days for us, so I hope you all have a chance to get out & enjoy it, at least a little. Have a good 1

Morning all...48* and the sun is finally out after ten days of darkness here in Swampville. Supposed to get to around 70* or so today. Gonna take the flowers up to ceme today, hop on the red rocket and mow the back 40, and maybe nose around Fareway to find something for the grill this weekend. I'm out of grilling ideas..... already had ribs, brats, burglers, chicken every which way, shish-kabobs, pig steaks, pig chops...

My cousin woke up to Mr. Bruin nosing in his yard this am....possibly same one that batted his small chicken coop to pieces and ate his chickens this Fall... :doah:  :fudd:

Morning all.  I went to work and then after an hour everything was going smooth so I left to come home and mow and weed whip.  TL made me do it...   lol  So where is that bear Rebs?  Just curious.  Not Rochester is it?  Windy as heck here today.  Not a good day to spray my generic Roundup.  Did I mention that at L&M Fleet they have a generic called Gly Pro or something like that.  It is glyophosphate which is what Roundup is.  They said Roundups patent is up and now this stuff is $21.99 a gal.  Roundup is $109 a gallon.  Great deal for me.  I am tired of weed whipping so am going to do more spraying this year.  Well gotta go get to work.

Ya LPS the generic glyphosate is a bargain compared to what it used to be. Most of it comes with the surfactant already added too which makes life easier. Add some 2,4-D and you can kill just about anything in these parts if you mix it strong enough. Time to get out in the fields again and see what disasters have befallen us. A lot of people out there crying wolf although we are very fortunate in this area. Crop is pale but it's planted for the most part and not underwater. A large area of the eastern corn belt has not been so lucky.

That there b'ar is in Pine River, Barry, on my cousin's 40 acres of property on which he lives and hunts. Got a feeling there's gonna be a bear roast this weekend... :whistling:
