Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 34 at choretime heading for a high in the mid-40's. Keyboard still playing games with me. Looks like I'll wind up making a trip to glenn's favorite store if it keeps it up. On the slate today is getting an article done before it gets completely out of control. No post office or banking today. Thank you vets for all you've done!   :ustroops:

Brrrrrrrrr that wind is chilly this morning.  31 out and feels like 24 it says.  Think it is a great day to spend in the shop.  Working on a Starcraft and Northwoods today.  Both are complete transom and remodels inside and out.   That should keep me busy this week.

Afternoon boys.  Yes the wind is cool here too.  Got the dock moved for winter, got 2 round bales out to Bucko and checked the gutters.  Now need to get the ladder out again to replace the light bulbs that face the river.  They are so cloudy they hardly work.  Then I am thinking of making a meatloaf on the new grill/smoker.  It has wifi so the wife got me all hooked up so I can run it from my phone.   :sleazy:  I know they have been out for a long time but this is the first time I have messed with one.  Fun..    Well see ya later.

Mornin gents, breezy again & 29 here. It looks like we might see 44 later. With the rain in the forecast along with some cooler temps going south we have decided to wait 'til Thursday to travel. Got most of the closing chores already done, so I might just have to work on my wood pile a bit again today. No more now, have a good day.

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 28 at choretime heading for a high in the upper 40's. Brisk SE wind driving it right into ya when you get out in the open. Waiting for a guy to show up and haul a couple of our show lambs to Louisville to the NAILE. Said he'd be here by 9. Not holding my breath. Be lucky to see him by 10 I suspect. Not gonna complain. Hauled them numerous times myself over the years. Traveling that many miles on ice and snow with a livestock trailer not my idea of a good time. Butt cheeks are pinched pretty tight. Suddenly makes barn cleaning sound like fun. A lot less dangerous anyway.  :coffee:

Morning boys.  A breezy cold morning here.  Was 26 when I got up.  About time to get the long johns out.  Will be low 40's I think.  I am having roast beef hash and eggs for breakfast and then going to to landfill. That is always an adventure.  After that maybe haul some firewood into the garage. Pretty much is the season. Have a good one.

As a kid I wore those white waffle like ones.  Bulky as heck.  Now I have some that must be polyester and are real thin.  Don't even know I am wearing them but keep me more comfortable.  Imitation silk jobs.   :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Merino wool longies; tops and bottoms.  Buy once, cry once.  Never regretted it.  I got mid-weight and use them all season from cool to cold.  They have lasted me for well over 10 years and are still going strong.  The deal with merino wool vs polyester or cotton is that stinky bacteria doesn't stick to the wool.

My only gig with long John's is my feet sweat if I don't run em high above my sock line. Maybe it's from hanging in the heat and then back outside ( especially during lunch time). But working outside everday my old carhart bibs my feet are fine, then again i take em off when I come in. Once your feet are wet it's over..

That's some pretty "styling socks" there. Got home yesterday morning from camp. We picked up 117 hides and got them salted. A little stiff today. Headed back today (in no big hurry with the rain) and back home again Thursday afternoon to do hides again and back up North again on Friday morning. If we were only getting $3.00 a hide I'd say screw it, but we're not. We have three in the barn, all bucks. A spike, a nine and a ten point. Have to stop at Eldon's today and maybe Lake Country Meats. One of them will have pork butts on sale for $1.69 a pound. Thinking four of them may get us through some sausage making. Later..... :happy1: :happy1:

Morning boys.  It is 39 and wet here.  The deck is soaked but I don't see any puddles.  I have my hernia fixed tomorrow so my last day of freedom for awhile.  I forgot I have another tree that fell down by the river that I have to cut up today.   Will turn it into firewood.  Other than that just take it easy. Have a good one.
