Forgot to mention, I got my 10 cu. ft. chest freezer defrosted after putting all the food in the BWH trunk for a few days. Kinda nice to be able to let that garage freezer set, clean it up good, remove the ice from the sides and allow all the frost that had built up in the lid to melt & drain out. Can actually open it and it stays open. Don't have to worry about the lid coming down on you when fishing something out of the bottom. Bought the unit brand new 44 years ago from the Co-Op in Rugby, the 1st yr. I lived in ND. Plugged 'er in last nite and it took off like a champ. Stuck a thermometer in it to make sure it was operating properly. Was -5 in the freezer when I checked this a.m. & loaded the food back in it. That cold weather was good for something.  :coffee:

No doubt about it roony. What amazes me is the old International freezers from the 50's or earlier that so many people had and still have down in their basements. Still see quite a few on CL & Marketplace. Those things weighed a ton and were built to withstand a nuclear blast. I know several people just left them when they moved because there was no way on God's green earth they could get them out. Some of the freezers were hauled down there back when farm houses had those outside storm shelter entrances. When grandpa & grandma remodeled, they just sorta worked around the freezer.

I had an old upright that I bought from my cousin that hauled it back from Alaska.  He had it for years too.  It conked out 2 years ago after I had it for 20 years.  You might remember I bought a new one at the big store in Warroad.  $800 and it lasted 16 months.  Absolutely no help or discount on a new one so will never be at that store again. Used to buy a lot of stuff there too. Got a nicer one here in town delivered.  Hope it lasts longer than that other one.  I did get a nice 10 cu ft at the store here in town and has lasted 4 years so far.

Ya, I wouldn't go back there either Barry if that is the kind of customer support you got from them.

Morning boys. -12 here this morning. Heading for a high of 3 above it says. Moved snow in our driveway and the neighbors last night. They decided this year to pay me to take care of it. Works for me. Otherwise just getting ready to head to the salt mines. Have a good one boys.

Not sure what is going to get done today. Might pull the carb from the Harley apart and see how much crud is in it. Head into FF to get a watch battery and see if I can find anything else I can't live without. Might need a bag of bowser chow too. Have a great day everyone. later..... :happy1: :happy1:

Morning boys.  We have -10 and hope to make it to 7 today.  Not real warm but getting us ready for tomorrow.  Should see 20's for the next week or so, maybe even a 30.  That will be great.  Hope it is the slide to spring.  LOL   Well this morning Jake had one of those spells like he had last Sept.  he was laying down and his legs were so wobbly he couldn't get up for about 30 seconds.  The wife laid by him on the floor till he got his muscles working again and he got up and ran to the bedroom and jumped in bed with me.  He was a little worked up and was doing his whining/talking thing that he does.  Seems fine now.  I have known other dogs that did that but never had one.  Scary.  Don't know if a Vet can do anything or not. I will call them. Well have a good day all of you.

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! -2 at choretime, -3 on the way into Bugtussle, heading for a high around 10 above. One more night of around zero and we start to warm up with highs in the 20's & 30's and more comfortable overnite lows. Got the lambs delivered to the locker plant. Some guy snuck in ahead of me as I was making my swing. No biggy but he messed up when he backed in, leaving a big gap where the hog he had on could've got loose. I helped the kid who was in charge hold the panel & he told the guy next time, back in at a 45 like this guy, pointing at me. As it was, I had a helluva time seeing the chute. The north side of the building, the sun at precisely the wrong angle hitting the sideview mirror and the pickup exhaust just hanging in the air behind me. Told the kid to yell because I couldn't see. Hit it about dead on & the lambs came off the trailer easily. Almost like I'd done it before... :coffee:

Feels good to be a hero if even for a minute Dotch.   :happy1:  So here is a good one.  The other day when it was so cold the UPS guy said it really doesn't bother him if he just keeps moving.  The next day I get emails from UPS saying that due to the cold my Wed items won't be here till Friday.  Never had that happen before and no biggy to me.

Nothing heroic about it Barry, just all in a days work. Had to keep the process moving before the next guy(s) showed up.

Surprised too to hear UPS wasn't delivering due to the cold temps. Dunno what they're running for fuel but if they were running diesels, perhaps. Have heard some tales recently of diesel pickups not starting or gelling up locally. Never had problems with my 5.9 Cummins back in the day as long as I blended it down to 50:50 with #1 when it stayed below ~ 20. Didn't diddle around with fuel treatment & other magic potions. SOB had to start.
