Looks like 30's and 40's the rest of the year. Not making ice. Lake close to town here is still partially open. Lots of swans and Canada Geese still here.
Conservative on some things.....Liberal on others.....Sane most of the time.

Whatta weird year. No frost line and no snow.  Hopefully the temp doesn't bottom out before we finally get some snow.

Frost was pretty much out in the fields day before yesterday when I was cleaning barn. Ground had some give to it as I drove the tractor across the field. Lotsa people putting in tile yet. Still some frost on north facing slopes, north side of the grove & north side of the house. It's coming out tho and if it rains on it, betting it'll be out there too. Up to 49 here now.

No fog and the roads are great to drive on. People are driving like idiots tho as a result. Amazing there aren't more accidents. Wait till it snows again. On yesterday's trip to the Twin Chitties, tailgaters were out in force as were the folks who can't maintain a consistent speed. Try and go around the knuckleheads to pass, & they speed up. Pull back in behind them, they slow down again. Then they exit at the next Walmart or Target. Figures.

I get a kick too out of some of these jokers trying to convince people that recent brown Christmases are climate change related. Dating back to 1899, we've had a brown Christmas nearly 1/3 of the time here. I'll take this any day over the crap we were dealing with last year at this time. The high for December 24th at the SROC in Waseca was -4 and the low was -11 with 4" of snow on the ground. At the ranch there was 10" of snow and chores sucked.

I know last year we were burning up a lot of wood even in November.  Big difference to this year. I forgot it was that cold last year.  Selective memory.

I'd tried to blot last November & December out of my mind. With our capital credit refund, the electric bill for this November was only $68.

I took advantage of the warm temps and the lack of snow cover to pick up another 30 supply of dog doodoo, which I won't have to deal with next spring.
