Pete Boulay is fun to listen to when I've heard his presentations. He doesn't try to superimpose climate change over the top of the data, just puts it into perspective. He's also the guy who oversees our precipitation monitoring group. Warmer than expected yesterday. Highs reached 57 in Owatonna & Albert's Leaf, with 59 in Waseca. Saw a 60 on the Buick thermometer west of St. Olaf Lake. Speaking of that, ice is coming out there quickly with all this wind. Water around the outside 40 - 50 yds. out with some on top of the remaining ice shelf. Suspect if the temps and wind go as forecast (temps near 70 Sunday & winds up to 40 mph) we may see total ice out there by Monday or Tuesday.

Guessing the ice is out or will be on St. Olaf today. Could be a record but don't know how far the records might go back. Clear Lake in Waseca might be easier to access. Send them wrens this way!
