??? reality ! mostly family but on the road there have been a few that listened to the ways ive tried to teach the kids and a grown up or two . most of us listen to what others have to say but usualy dont pay it no mind . i like to see a child fishing and learning to cast their first rod and reel with the BIGGEST SMILE on their faces with the excitement of an accomplishment that will last a life time

I am sharing the outdoors with my wife and my son through our walks in the woods, bike rides on the trail system through the parks in our town, and with my son specifically this summer by teaching him how to fish...or maybe he is teaching me, I'm not sure yet.

In any event, we are out as often as we can be which is usually once or twice a week either on my day off during the week or one day during the weekend. We have had success on each of our last 5-6 fishing outings together in catching many fish. They may not be the biggest fish, but they are on his hook and that is huge for him right now. We are both having a blast and enjoying our time together outdoors. Great memories in the making!!!  ::dancinred::      ::rockon::

Im teachin my 3 kids Hockey #12, Swan, and Lil Grute Dudette.  Hockey #12 is already a suscessful hunter and fisherman.  Swan has one more year to go then he's hunting.  He'll tag along with me this year to learn the lay of the land and have some lutefisk wiht the boys at deer camp (I hope).  Lil Grute Dudette loves fishing with Dad and I hope she hunts but that'll be her choice.  I try to get Momma Grute to get into the Outdoors but she's got other priorities and shes a vegitarian   :alien:.  I think thats the first time that word was ever printed on this website.  ;D  I gave her a bike for Mother's Day so she's out more.  Now I need to get her on some good trails with a camera.

Well, today is my wedding anniversary (11 years) so we very well may go out for supper tonight if I can get home from work before 730pm. Tomorrow, hopefully get up early and wet some line with my son and then we are watching our friends son for the afternoon. Sunday we will maybe try to fish again and chill out watching the race in the afternoon.   ;D  ::fishing::

Friday left work early to go get my kids from camp.  Cooked out steaks and had a bon fire.  Saturday we'll clean up a bit and if the weather is nice hit the lake.  Sunday go to church and meet our new Pastor.  Then at MIDNIGHT go pick up Momma Grute from the airport.  The beach bum in on vay-kay with her best bud (besides me) in Mexico.

.25 cents/glass bottle

My earliest recollection is back in '76 at a family rebellion (reunion) and there was a Pepsi machine.  In it I can remember there being the following brands:

Pepsi
A & W Root Beer
Sundrop
Grape Nehi
Strawberry Nehi
Orange Crush
Squirt
RC Cola
Bubble Up

There may have been more-I'm not sure.  The owner of the resort where this was at used to fill it himself as he owned the machine.  It was similar looking to this one:

*By the way-I know I'm old!   :whistling:  These were actual glass bottles, not cans, not 20 oz plastic bottles!

Early 1980s with high school buddies hunting dove.  Lots of dove down in KY with all the corn fields and all.  Popped a squirle or two as well.

MNO question of the day Sunday June 17th (fathers day).

What was the first year you went hunting
?

In the foothills of the Sierra Mountains, California, for squirrels, with my then 8 year old son.  He is 24 and married now. He could not hold still, was like a bag of snakes, every squirrel in the county ran away, I made the mistake of wearing a bright noisy ski jacket.. I didn't know any better... BUT.. we heard some rustling in the brush and put a sneak of it.  The adrenaline was coming out of our ears.  Looking back, I'm pretty sure it was a wild hog and not a squirrel.  The "sneak" lasted about 15 minutes.  It seemed like two hours.  Then "it" scurried away down the mountain side thru the brush, unseen by us.  My son just stood there gasping. wide eyed and grinning like a cheshire cat, holding his .22 and said "THAT WAS soooooo COOL MOM".  I knew he was hooked.  :-)
