I think I'm back to fully recovered however I have not had a beer since last Saturday.   I cleaned out the shed yesterday and I'm going to deliver the bar to the person who won it this evening.  Tomorrow we will be getting the camper ready to head out for one last weekend.  Nagatha 2 has been neglected as of late so I'll have to figure out something for her to do this weekend.
it was that much fun huh!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!

You have no idea  :happy1:

I ALMOST decided to quit drinking.  But the neighbor came over and we loaded up the crapper and bar to bring them back to their owners and drank a few beers when we got back to my place and boy did they taste great.  So I'm back off the wagon.

Yes RH I hope everything goes well for you and the young lady.

Ya I have almost quit drinking a few times after over indulging too General.  I failed to quit each time.  I did succeed in quitting smoking cigs back in 1997.  THAT was a good thing to quit.

Well bad news you guys...  I may not be on here for long.  Seems I may be charged by a judge if I don't make a phone call to the IRS in the next day or two.  Ya I got this phone call threatening me and I am pretty scared.  It may already be too late.  I probably should have made the phone call immediately but it was kind of hard to understand what the guy was saying to me.   :bonk:  Wish me luck.

Well Kaper"prick" sat out again.  I sure hope he gets blackballed from the league.  His is such a dumbass.

TGIF...  Man the week went fast till yesterday.  Now I can't wait to get today done.  Well I will be driving semi today and will be able to listen to KFAN and hear all of the football news.  And unfortunately the baseball news.  Not a big Twins fan but love the Vikes and Gophs.  We just became Goph fans a couple of years ago.  My brorthers and a good friend of mine are Twins fans and have been trying for years to get me interested.  Man it is hard to get interested in them...  I will keep on thinking about it..

So see ya all later and have a great weekend....

It's ok LPS, they have it pretty cumphy in jail....3 squares, a bed, cable TV,  internet and a weight room. You'll be fine.

But, seriously, hope everything works out for you.

Today, we'll be taking the little boat out with hopes to catch a shore lunch. This afternoon, I will finally have time to pull the big boat out of the barn to check the 90hp out. Tonight we'll be putting out decoys for tomorrow's hunt.

Have a great day boys, it's gonna be a nice one!

LPS,  my wife got a call like that too.  I called the Minnesota Attorney Generals office and they put me to the treasury dept.  They are tracking these calls.  I would not pay any attention to phone calls from the IRS.  They do not call, they sent you letters, official letters, they do not call you.  These are scams.  good luck.

Ya my biggest fear is that they take me to Nigeria where the call probably came from.  Too hot there for me and I don't think they do much fishing.

Good to see everyone is doing well.  I'm looking forward to some rest and relaxation this weekend.  I'm just hoping the skeeters don't carry me away.

Nice!! Well 2 Mile walk in coffee flowing and egg bake and muffins in the oven. 2 trees fell over with all the soggy weather here at the cabin the last several weeks so they need some attention. Steaks over the fire tonight paired with about a gazillion skeeters.... have a great day!!!

Bummer boar. I'm in hay baling mode. Small squares today. The fastest way to get a teen-aged male to suddenly disappear around here is to say the words "bale hay". Getting too old for this crap.

I hear ya about the bailing hay Dotch. Between mama and me, we get our hay bailed cause as soon as I  fire up the tractor, the homestead becomes a ghost town....

:happy1: Ain't that the truth HD?

I'm working with the neighbors on this project. They've still got a couple of those New Holland doo hickey's that pick up the bales after the baler lays them on the ground on their side. Their Dad is in his late 70's and has been in some poor health lately or he'd be out there grinding away, running the haybine, raking, and running the baler. Trading some labor for baling, etc., by standing in for him. Bad news is the sidewalls in my barn aren't high enough so they can just back those stack wagons in, flip them up and leave the  hay pre-stacked like they were intended to do. So we wind up dumping them in a pile outside the door, tossing 7 in my skidloader bucket, running them inside and stacking them. No conveyor so we end up handling them several times. Already have enough round bales to make it through the winter and beyond. Too bad I still need small squares for the lambing pens and smaller groups of animals. Sounds like the boys will help me toss 'em in the barn today. Guessing there will be 3 or 4 wagons worth. They hold about 67 bales apiece.

Yup, I  don’t have a thrower on my square bailer, so it all has to be picked and stacked by hand. This year, a guy bought the hay before it was even cut. He left his wagons here, so we just stacked it on his. That way we didn't have to handle it twice. (Which was kinda nice for a change)

I haven't baled hay since I was in high school...  Uncle had a farm by Hawkins wisconsin and ma made us all go help with baling.   Did loose hay when I was a little kid, wagon pulled by horses with a hay loader behind the wagon.

Then got modern with bales but put them in the hayloft with the old fork deal from the loose hay days.  Finally moved up to a bale elevator.

Ancestors didn't do a very good job of picking land back in the day.  Some con man ripped them off.

Gee del! You really ARE old!...lol. How a machine pulled behind the rack managed to walk the hay up to the top then dump it on the rack was an engineering marvel. Was a lot of work for the the guy stacking it but it sure had to beat the hell out of tossing haycocks from the ground onto the rack with a pitchfork. Never had the pleasure of putting up loose hay for real although we used to put up some loose grass hay for the top of the baled hay stacks we'd make in the field sometimes. Actually worked pretty well especially if it didn't rain a lot afterwards. I did get to shock corn one fall when we had an early frost though. Running the old IH binder with the bundle carrier was kinda fun. Shocking the corn itself? Not so much.

Got about 40% of the way through the haying project yesterday. The hay on the field we baled late afternoon was only marginally dry so we wound up using some inoculant on it. Checked the stack in the barn this a.m. and so far so good. Not heating or anything. Smells absolutely fantastic. Think I'll just have them roll up a few more round bales on the last field this afternoon and call it good. That field was wetter but it's windy and warm today so it should be nice and dry by late afternoon. It's Sunday though and they really don't want to work any more than they have to. Can't blame them. They chopped the hay off mine for second cutting as rain was imminent so they owe me some bales. They still have about 30 acres of their own to cut yet so I can get a few more small squares off of that hopefully. We'll work something out.

Morning gents,  after cutting up two trees and yanking off the top of another with the truck cut and stacked among lots of other chores we decided to head home a day early from the cabin.lots to do before the wife and I head for the west coast soon , twenty years of marriage goes by pretty quick.  It's looking like I might have a weekend or 2 open in the next few weeks dotch if you need a hand stacking hay or whatever needs to be done. Most of the meat is froze so looks like it's Swedish meatballs over noodles with perhaps some sort of rosemary bread she says....think I'll sit this cooking of dinner out...

I was young enough in those days to ride on top of the stack, but not to have to do anything constructive.   That came later, after my uncle bought a baler, not one of the sissy ones with pto, but one that just got pulled by the tractor and had a Wisconsin engine on it to run it.   So haying was a multi pass deal.   Cut it with the sickle bar.  Rake it.   Rake it again to turn it over.  bale it.   Go pick up the bales with a wagon and put in barn.

Of course in that part of the country, being not so prosperous, all the equipment was a ways behind.
I seem to remember the tractor being a cockshutt, before they moved up to a Fordson.

Ah, same sort of baling routine I grew up with Del. Mowed with a drawbar mounted IH sickle mower, crimped with a Brady crimper, raked with a 4 bar John Deere side delivery rake on steel one day, raked again the next morning and baled with an International 46 baler that same afternoon. Those Wisconsin engines were tough but fickle. You didn't want to kill it though as they were about impossible to start again when they were hot. May as well find something else to do for a while until they cooled down.

Wow HD! I had no idea you were a Cockshutt guy. I learned to drive tractor on our Co-Op E3, the same thing as a Cockshutt 30. And I spent many hours cultivating on an E-4, (Cockshutt 40). In fact it was the first tractor my Dad bought new back in 1950. True live power take off, not the slip clutch, kinda-sorta live PTO that Allis-Chalmers claimed they had. The E4 is down in my shed. Hasn't been run in about 20 years so need to get that project up and going. My brother has a 20, 30 and a 50.

Have fun bobber and thanks for the offer. We finished the hay on mine this afternoon. Matt broke a belt and couldn't wrap the last bale so it wound up in my yard under a tarp. There was a hunk of windrow he didn't get so I wound up going back to the field and pitching it on a trailer. Still some small squares to do but who knows when that will be with all the rain in the forecast. Just thankful we got what we did over the weekend.

Morning boys.  We have gotten some work done this weekend so far.  We trimmed the trees along the driveway.  Looks great.  The snowplow won't hit them now.  It took 4 wagon loads of branches to get it done.  Lot's of burning to do now.  Also I have a big pile of firewood that I starting stacking under the eaves of the garage/shop.  Will be nice to get that all organized.  Had so much that we just brought it home and made a big pile behind the garage last year.  I wish the wealth of a man really was determined by the size of his wood pile.  lol  It rained 3/4" here last night so after it dries up I will stack more of it today.  If it doesn't rain anymore that is.

Well we got Sam Bradford.  Man is that great!  I have been watching videos of him and am excited.  Maybe if Teddy comes back he will be Bradfords backup.  I guess Bradford played with Hill for a few years so they know each other already.  That is great.  I hope he comes in and plays some against the Titans so he gets some playing time before we play Green Bay.  Going to be a great season.
