I hear ya. Venturing through there a few weeks back brought back memories-none of them good! We're stuck in a blob of light rain that seems to be regenerating right over the top of us. They were out spreading crap on the road to rust everyone's cars out earlier so that part is taken care of. :bonk:

Have to start up the snow blower this morning.  wet snow but a decent amount.  Have to finish up my prep work for T day.  Stuffing will be finished today to bring over to my daughters house.  Put in the big bird tomorrow early.  Have a great day everyone.  good luck.

Mid 30 & still drizzly ;) here. Headed up to mom's this afternoon, probably stick around until at least Saturday. Probably drag out some of her Christmas decorations, maybe even a little holiday shopping so I'll be out of touch for a few days. Hope everybody has a good Thanksgiving. Sounds like the weather going to be a little iffy for the weekend, so safe travels everybody.

Morning guys.  It is cold and white here.  What a difference from a week ago.  Slapped back to reality.  We go to my brothers house this year for T Day.  Sure hope the roads are good for my mom and dad who will be coming from the south.  I am bringing my last pack of homemade bacon to cook in the oven as an hors deouvres while watching the game.  The wife made some great things too.  I am sure a good time will be had by all.  The Vikes game will be some first rate entertainment so I hope it ends well.  We will probably have a family pool of some sort on the games too.....

'mornin'! Some light freezing drizzle falling this morning. In the last 24 hrs. we measured .66" of liquid precip at the ranch and .75" in Bugtussle. Very lucky this didn't fall as snow. It put an end to any remaining field work at least for the time being. Trying to get mentally prepared for tomorrow's Thanksgiving Day debacle. Hope everyone has a good Turkey Day!  :Turkey:

Evening all. Had the day off today and bounced around like a fart  in a bottle.  Scraped the driveway this morning, shopped and did my best impression of Griswold by putting up the Xmas lights. Turkey is swimming in the brine just waiting for heat in the morning, think I'll get a fire going downstairs tonight and do my best to stay awake and watch the hockey game.   See later!

Took advantage of the nice weather and finished the outside Christmas stuff.  Front door and deck.  All outside stuff is now done.  Also, picked up the venison from McDonalds in Clear Water.  I'm sure they did a good job but it was expensive.  To skin, cut, grind package and freeze ran about $140 per deer.  This cost $100 where we usually take them but they were full.

Our group usually does that ourselves! Sure it's not butcher shop grade but it gets done. Usually just being trimmings in.

Long time fellas. Bought a whitefish net. Went to cabin last Thursday before storm. Set net. Friday during blizzard pulled net. 11 whitefish. Success!  Killed two bucks deer hunting ala Glenn. I'm on fire.

:happy1: :happy1: :happy1:Way cool on the netting of whitefish... fill us in on how you do it?  How shallow on rocks or sand?  Did you know the spot had spawning WF?   Any tullibee's or is that a different time of year or a different net size?

You have to net in less than 6 fow. The lake is only 80 acres and it's deep (60 feet)but no sand or rocks at all. Mucky weeds. Our family cabin has been there since 1952. I know where guys have netted we've given access too but mostly guessed based on years of hearing them splashing at surface st night during early November. Only WF in this lake.

Apparently the females surface and when they dive males follow and fertilize eggs. Almost all fish were 22-24 inches. 3-5 pounders.

Good morning all!! Hopefully everybody had a good and safe turkey day. Busy day for me around here, gonna get a bunch of wood hauled into the garage and go get a couple more trailer loads cut to put in the shed.

Black Friday today too, which id rather stick air fresheners on a skunks tail that be amongst those crowds. If any of you do the black Friday, be safe out there!!!

Going on our normal 2 mile walk soon, might have to make 3 after yesterday.  I hear ya lbbg, I gotta go get some trim  for the bathroom sometime today but hopefully that's all the shopping I have to do. I'm not sure why but this is the first black Friday I haven't chased pheasants in years.  Have a great day gents!!

Work on fish house day for me, Sure hope I get to use it this year. I'm still trying to find a solid cover/box for 2-40# propane tanks that won't break the bank.
