Have the day off and am having a hard time getting motivated.  It is sunny and 77 here.  Actually feels hotter than that.  I should mow but wish there was a breeze to make it more comfortable..     Oh well sent some UPS pkgs out and some to Spee Dee so at least got something done.

Struggling to make 70 here. Stuck on 64 at last check. Makes sense. We're closer to the south pole.  Well, a little hard work never killed anyone I guess but why take the chance? Sounds like you've overachieved already for the day so Dr. Dotch suggests pacing yourself. Live to fight another day.

Me too, Barry. Mowed the back 40 with the Red Rocket and fought the aisle bovines at Wallace Mart just to get a few things. I'm beat. Got a good headache goin' too. Was gonna clean house, but just can't do it.

Ok so today was kind of a retirement practice day...     I am a year or two away but still it doesn't hurt to practice does it?  So I was going to take a nap, what a treat.  Well I have the window open and the bird feeder is right outside the window.  I am just falling asleep with the dogs   beside me and Bob the female cat on my lap.  I hear this bird squack.   I don't open my eyes wondering what kind of bird that is.  It squacks again and no I am not going to open my eyes.   The damn thing squacks again and I had to look to see what kind of bird it was.  Buddy the black dog was up and looking at it too.  It was a bluejay making a sound I have never heard one make before.   SO I got up and mowed the lawn..  Must have been an omen or something.  Man I feel good about getting it done too.  It was a good day.  I am thinking Rebs would have blown that blue jay away...

oh no! I love blue jays! My favorite birds!!! Ever heard one imitate a squirrel when they're around each other? BJ's are great mimics. Love watching 'em go after skwirrels, they seem to hate each other. They also making a "purring" sound , and can sound like a cat meowing....

Actually I have always liked Blue Jays too.  Beautiful birds.  I have read how they have gotten a bad rap on the eating others eggs.  Lots of birds do that.  I grew up in Luverne and we were the Cardinals.  (which I miss seeing)  Jackson was the Blue Jays.  Great video Rebs.

love the jays too!!  they will keep you up for sure!!!  I watch them every day and I too would like to see some cardinals, if I placed the feeders up again maybe..  bird bath  is enough for me...

Lotsa cardinals around here; they nest in my big mugho pine outside my garage. And this is true, they've done it for years...when the stereo is on in the garage, they sit by overhead door and sing away...I kid you not! They love the radio!!!

Morning.  So we had 37 the other day for a low and there was frost on some rooftops.  Today it is gonna hit 87.  Man I am glad the blue jay told me to mow the lawn yesterday.  The wife will come home at noon and turn on the AC.  Better get my outside stuff done at work before it gets too hot.  Did sit in the boat for awhile the other day.  Not sure if I mentioned it or not.  Caught on keeper walleye and hot some little ones nibbling on the bait but couldnt' hook them so I let the one go.  Felt good to fish as it has been ahwile.  The fall fishing is getting closer.  Didn't even apply for a bear permit this year so should have extra time for fishing.
