morning, 23 and breezy here.  not much going on here today.  have not heard of any more cars and trucks going swimming since yesterday noon.  maybe they are starting to wise up.
a bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at work!!

Morning gents! 24* and blazing moonlite out there. Ghostly rabbits dining under the apple tree. They seem to come out more when there's bright moonlight, seems that would be a predator's dream. Watch out for swooping owls. Dopey rabbits. Mid 40's for today. Got a few groceries to get, other than that, not much going on. Got the new shelves in the garage over the weekend and things all rearranged.
Looks like I'm finally gonna get to have Boober's bacon for breakfast, been thawing in the friggentater. Couple o' sunny side up eggs, some toast to mop up the yolks with, and a glass of OJ should have me rarin' to go. Might have to nose over to the NL 2's later to see what was up with the truck...a good excuse, anyway. She might want a ride in Mr. Sparkles. She's pretty sparkly herself.  Have a good Monday, guys. You too, munchkin.   ;D

Morning all. Hope the furnace keeps a cranking for you Gunner. Oh joy, another Monday. I am with LPS, sure would be nice to stay home and putz. But I am glad that I have a good job. A friend of mine that worked down in Osseo Mn. lost his job last October when they shut the doors. He had been there almost 30 years. They did prestress concrete. It was pretty sad, they get done with building the new Vikings stadium then close up shop. I think they are trying to bust the union myself. So my buddy Joe has been hunting and fishing since he got laid off. I figure it must be getting close for him to start looking for a job soon. Not much happening today. Have a  good one all!

Man I gotta stop over to Reb's for breakfast someday. A plate of real food would sure beat the hell out of a couple granola bars and coffee!  hubba_hubba-404.gif

Mornin' everone! A couple more ewes came in Saturday night that puts us over 75% done. Still blows me away since we usually haven't even started lambing by now. One more is close and looks like another one later week perhaps. The last one Saturday night needed an assist so I donned the OB sleeves and delivered a freakishly long, long legged ewe lamb. No way the ewe would've delivered that one on her own. Haven't checked the ratio lately but the ewe lamb:buck lamb ratio appears pretty close. We docked tails, gave shots, put in ear tags, set up the creep feeder and moved a bunch of critters on Saturday freeing up a lot of space. Took about an hour long nap yesterday afternoon when Mrs. Cheviot was gone. Made it look like I'd done a lot of stuff around home first though. Gotta be stealthy about napping as Mrs. Cheviot might try to jump my bones if she catches me!

Thanks gents. Sure is fun making, but something seems to be missing yet, maybe some maple syrup in the dry brine next time. Then again I should try pops brine. :happy1:

I've done it once with a dry rub, and once with pops brine.  The pop's brine is by far my favorite bacon!!!   :happy1:  :happy1: hubba_hubba-404.gif

Morning all. It is the big valentines day. Whoopee, can't say that the wife and I get to excited about it anymore. Just another day to us. It used to be a big deal, but I guess as the years go by it is just another day.  We wished each other happy v day and a kiss when she dropped me off for work. Good enough for us. well, not much new happening here. 30* this morning, I think that is the high for today. Have a good day all.

Same here JB.  I love my wife but we have a good time every day we are together so yes a kiss is the norm.  We would go out to eat if even for a burger and a beer but are going on our Laughlin vacation so will count that as Valentines Day celebration....  Having my cheerios as usual and have lunch made and ready to go.  Like you Glenn ham is my go to for sandwiches.  I even put a little catsup on it today to jazz it up a little.....     :azn:  Well have a great day all....

We have 29 & the trees are movin already. The guy who does the furnace controller work for the installers was not at work yday am. He did call about 1:30 & said he'd make it here today. The furnace has been workin fine it's just that there's a zone default message on the thermostat. Made it out :fishing: in the afternoon, had some action but nothing to show for it. :bonk: Looks to be a indoors day here, have a good 1

Bummer when the service guys don't show up. Usually if they pull that stunt, it's their last visit. Now the guys who forget to bill me, that's another story!

Mornin'! Temp is up to 36 heading to 40. A couple cooler days then Friday we're supposed to toy with the notion of 60. No big plans for Valentines Day although I may sneak down to Morgan's meat market to see if anything catches my eye in the counter there. Should be a good night for grilling even though the wind will be strong out of the NW. Patio is on the south which will swirl the smoke in the house. It also gets me smelling all smoky which is dangerous. After the last grilling session, Mrs. Cheviot said she wanted to eat me. I was flattered until I saw the knife and fork in her hands.  :banghead:

I gave my wife orchids and a fillet mignon dinner along with mom.  Baked potato on the side.  I'm having a chuck eye steak myself.  Then tomorrow I will head up north to Duluth to try for some pike, walleye, perch, and crappies.  I'll take any of them.  Pike for pickled pike and the rest for the deep fryer.  If the pike are 4 pounds and in that area I will fillet some up as well, but my brother has been getting more below that range.  This lake does have some big one's in it and I will release those.  Just great to be up there.  good luck.
