'Mornin' all.....53*, sunny, and heading to 65* ish. Pegged out here yday at 75* Got the deck, deck steps all cleaned and stained yday. Four hours of that. Then me and my buddy ripped out the old landscape timbers out front, got rid of the old cypress nuggets, and sunk in new concrete scalloped edging.  Put in all new pine nuggets (no cypress anymore at stores) Timbers were sunk with 3' rebar anchors down thru all of them. Pulled them out, too. That was a three hour ordeal. Concrete edging comes in 2' sections, we had to use his concrete saw to cut at every other one to do around corner.... :doah:
I'm done with all the Spring work list. Now I really am gonna goof off like a smurf.  :azn:

Ok I am back in action boys.  Had a great time in our camper at my brothers 60th.  The spud salad was a big hit.  My Mom made a fantastic batch of that pea salad with the chunks of cheese in it.  Sort of extra creamy since the word "juicy" is too much for Rebs....   :bonk:  I love that pea salad.  We grilled burgers too.  My brother grills the  best burgers.  He never over cooks them and that is the key to a good burger....   My Dad, brother, myself and my brothers son(my godson) and the nieces boy friend hit the Par 3 golf course.  It is an annual thing for us.  I used to golf a lot but not anymore.  I love the Par 3 thing.  May have to take up golfing more when I retire.  Anyway it is sure good to be back home.

Juicy burgers....but tater salad?   ;D Used to have an old drunk neighbor that said in the Spring, the grass is too "juicy" to be able to mow it right...that was the best one I'd ever heard.

Get them tac lights yet, Barry?   ;)

I sure did and thanks for asking.  Awesome!!!   Brought it down to the family get together.  When we had the bonfire I would aim it at the woods and it was like daytime.  When we walked the dogs after dark down the long driveway they were always looking in the woods and smelling critters.  When I sparked that baby up to full speed it lit the woods up hilariously.   Then we saw rabbits up the wazoo running away from us and the dogs went nuts on their leashes.  The wife said "quit doing that"......   I laughed like heck and of course quit lighting the woods up on high beam.  Also Rebs you are overachieving on that yard of yours.  I bet all of the neighbors feel like underachievers now....    :rotflmao:  Did you call your legislature Rep yet and tell them you want 2 fishing lines???  Get all of your coharts on it too.

Good deal!! Told ya them suckers were unreal! Don't strobe it at any airplanes.... !!  :doah: Just plug 'em in after lotsa use, or check the flashing blue light mode for batt strength to keep 'em perked up. Actually, I've never even drained that batt down hardly any at all, even on the blast 'em mode. Bring 'em down and we'll drive over to Dels' some nite and light him up good.  He'll include that in his letter to the legislature for a new light law.   :rotflmao:
I've got the new NL#2 trying like crazy to get her yard up to match mine. Told her she'll just wear herself out, and there's better ways to do that...  My mailman told me yday "that's the most beautiful grass I've ever seen". I think he's shootin' for some more tomato's this year when my crop comes in. Which, by the way, my Early Girl plant looks lousy...and the Better Boy not much better. I may yank 'em and get new ones tomorrow. Ain't screwin' around for a month trying to get 'em going good. I think I just got some cruddy plants..

Tomato plants really don't like cold soil and cold nights.   You jumped the gun this year, and got caught by the week of awful weather we had.

Morning all.  Well I have today off work which I didn't plan.  On our way home yesterday I looked at a camper at Menagha.  A 26' one.  We really liked it.  We like the one we have too but it is a 2006 so I bought the 2011 one and am going to get it today.  Will then list ours for sale.  Always fun to upgrade.  So having coffee and then I am out of here.  Just wanted to share the news with you guys.  Man did I have the wood ticks on me this weekend.  We looked at some lake front bare property with my brother.  I found 5 or 6 wood ticks on me and one deer tick.  The wife only had one deer tick on her.  She didn't walk in the woods as much as us.

Morning all. Congrats on the new rig Barry. 44* here this morning. The wind has been blowing off of the lake since Saturday, so that cools things down a bit. Worked on projects around the house this weekend. The wife and I went for a 4 wheeler ride Friday after week got home from work. Seen a big ole timber puppy couple miles from the house. Was a pretty big one too. Well, off to another day in paradise. Have a good one!

Nope, I didn't get caught by nothin'.  They were put in the ground FOUR days ago.  Been raised in house for a month. Plenty warm out for them this last week.

Congrats on the new home, Barry! Sounds like a good summer ahead!  :happy1:

50 at choretime although the breeze made it feel cooler than that. Beautiful weekend! Planters rolled making farmers a little less grumpy. Decided at the last minute to go with the car club on a cruise to New Ulm Saturday. Did the Schell's brewery tour then went to the Turner Hall Rathskeller, reputedly the oldest bar in MN. Hawk performed flawlessly. Took my reference material along and while I had a few phone calls, they weren't anything that should've made me feel guilty about going. Best of all, after I was done there, I linked up with my old college buddy and one of my very best friends from New Ulm. Gave him a short ride in the Stude then went back to his house. We repaired to the veranda, had a GT and since his house is right across from the MN River, we watched the world go by.

Saw our first oriole of the season yesterday at the ranch. Had sheep people visiting in the a.m. then tore into the lawn mowing in the afternoon. After 5 hours of that I wasn't arguing when Mrs. Cheviot suggested we head to Owatonna for some Chinese after chores. Gave me a chance to drive the Stude again and fill it with gas for the next run wherever it may be.
Time itself is bought and sold, the spreading fear of growing old contains a thousand foolish games that we play. (Neil Young)
