Someone (LPS?) was asking about what makes good GT (I think) so feel obligated to try and answer. Typically I like the better gins, stuff like Tanqueray, Tanqueray 10, Bombay Sapphire. Beefeater, Boodles, Hendricks, etc. Decent tonic too (Canada Dry, Schweppe's) although some of the tonic aficionados claim our American tonic water is too sweet. Whatever. I usually avoid the grocery store brands. Above all, avoid the diet tonic like the plague. It is just plain bad. A wedge or slice of lime, some ice and those are the raw ingredients. 5 or 6 cubes in a short glass, a shot of the gin of choice plus 5 - 6 ozs. of tonic water. I usually squeeze the lime into the mix, stir, and there you have it. A friend sent me some of the Jack Rudy Small Batch Tonic which is mixed with club soda and subbed for the 5 - 6 oz. of tonic water. It gives the drink a little more of an amber color. It's not as sweet and contains more quinine, getting it perhaps a little closer to the way the Brits make theirs. It's good. Different, but good. Geez, suddenly I feel thirsty. I have a blood draw tomorrow a.m. at 10  but there was nothing said about no alcohol, just no food after 10 p.m. Doctor: "Mr. Bernard, we got your labs back. Have you been eating the evergreen shrubbery around your house." Me: "Well, you told me to eat more fiber!"

Morning guys, 45 here. We had some pretty steady rain yesterday around noon. Only 1 tractor out in the fields on our way to Mason City yesterday about 9:30. We'll be hittin the road for Mom's this pm as she has a appt at the clinic early tomorrow. If everything goes according to plan, we'll hang out in Austin for the weekend & then it's off to the lake early Monday. So you won't be hearing from me until early next week. Looks to be a nice weekend coming up, hope you get a chance to enjoy it.  So while I'm off the grid, I hope you can keep the little blue guy out of trouble. I doubt it though

28 here when we got out of bed.  It is white as snow here with all of the frost.  My wife also thinks we are "sic" but in a good way.  I tell her some of the funny things on here and talk about my friend who lives where ever and she thinks it is pretty cool that we all talk about the things that we do.   As in it is raining in Rochester or Milan.  (we like the Milan area and is one of the areas we look at for when I retire)  Well I put gas in the 40 hp Merc on the pontoon boat yesterday.  New hose, new tank, new plugs, new battery.  Hit the key and it was running immediately.  WOW!!!   I had sprayed some lube in each cylinder earlier in the day.  This motor hasn't been running for 12 years.   Never had a pontoon so will be fun.

47* and sunny here, lookin' good for the rest of the week. Mid 70's for the weekend. Better rustle up some fixin's to toss on the grill. Thinking a plate of smomed sriracha wings would hit the spot...hmmm...have to get some sour cream to make the dippin' sauce, got the blue cheese...I think. Picked up a new 'mater yday, that one early girl is coming out, just lookin' too danged scraggly. Kinda like Glenn's old girlfriend, Snagglepuss. Well, I better exit stage left....to the cawfee. Have a good one, guys.

Morning boys! TGIF!!! 46 to start the day here, I think it is supposed to get to around 60 today. Looks like a nice weekend. The wife and I are going to head down to the hunting shack for the weekend. Going to get the trailcams put out and the mineral licks freshened up. Stopped and picked up all the mixture for that in Roseau last night. Aslo going to cut up the tress that the power company cut down and pushed up along the woods. Good morning.  57 here in Andover and heading for 72.  Great weather for opener.  Staying home here myself.  Usually do not go on opener.  Just too nuts for me.  Have to replace my rectifier/regulator on my 115 hp Merc 4 stroke.  Batter don't charge.  By the diagram it looks like it's in the front of the motor.  hope it's easy because I am not a great mechanic.  Going to get some brush killer for the "bamboo" that is spreading everywhere on one side of the house.  Supposed to kill right down to the roots.  good luck.
