Ya, but I'd check it weekly Barry. Just my opinion after teaching this stuff for so many years....you may suddenly get 4-5 charges racking up at once, as is done sometimes when they get an active card number. Then it's a mess.

So will checking with Equifax help?  I guess so.  How do you do that without making yourself more of a target?  I think the last time we went to the bank for any amount that was warrantying a credit check was 5 or 6 years ago.

Don't you do online banking? Able to check yer acct online? Just look at yer activity sheet...mine list all transactions under my checking, savings, credit card, etc. Just like the monthly sheet you used to get from banks...except online. I have an alert that prints any transaction over a $1 to my sheet. You can set alerts for this type of thing on a lot of sites. Mine is completely customizable. That's why I like Affinity Plus CU.

To check if you were part of the Equifax breach (the A-holes!) go to this site to check:

https://www.equifaxsecurity2017.com/am-i-impacted/

Hope this helps, Barry.

Then how do you pay for groceries, gas, etc?! We're not talking debit cards, or soused up verde things here, Delmont! Stick wid the program!!!  :tut:

I have several credit cards.   I don't use debit cards.   Credit cards have legal federal law protection for the holder.  Debit cards not so much.  Don't believe me?   Go do your homework.

Well, aren't you just the special little fella! Wee bit testy, are we? I need to do no homework; I'm totally dialed in on all those types of matters. You need to do YOUR homework, you are incorrect. Affinity Plus has ZERO liability on debit OR Credit cards...was just told that today by my CU advisor. I've provided a link for ya so you can do YOUR homework. Whassa matter, yer bowl of  corn masa fall on the floor and go *SPLAT*?   ;)

https://www.affinityplus.org/connect-with-us/our-blog/id/551/fight-credit-and-debit-card-fraud

From APFCU:

Credit and debit cards come with significant fraud protection. Your Affinity Plus Visa debit and credit card account is protected by Visa’s Zero Liability Policy, which guarantees you will not be responsible for fraudulent charges, should they occur.

One is federal law, the other is "visa policy".   You choose.
Yep, feisty I am.

Ya the wife checks it frequently.  I will ask her to ask more often.  Thanks Rebs.  Thanks for the link.  It looks like we are not impacted as they say.  Checked mine and the wifes.  Maybe you should start another thread so others can see how to check theirs out Rebs.  This is awesome that you offered this info.  I have wondered how to do it quickly.  And quit giving Delmar such a hard time......    :tut:

Hey, let's be fair here! He started in on ME!  :tut:   Pick, pick, pick. Mr persnickety. I KNOW what my CU tells me is right. Delmar don't. If I start to give him a hard time, there'll be no doubt in yer mind.    Sorry, Del!!
The others will just have to read those credit posts and hope they can follow them. I'm retired.

Reb:  Del, there's an asteroid headed ta Rochester!!! Take cover!!

Del:  That's a meteorite technically, not an asteroid.

Reb: But Del, here it comes! It's gonna hit yer house!

Del: Wouldn't matter, meteorite's are so small that when     *CRASH*  *KABOOM*

Comprendae...   Hey I am serious, I wondered how to check with Equifax and I am sure many others do too.  They would like to see your link Rebs.  I sure appreciated it.  Was just talking at work today and we wondered how to do it the right way.  Thanks.   Bed time, talk to you in the morning...

Mornings paisano's. Me, anyway. Woke up wid chilly widdle hands. 64* inside. Might haveta throw a blankie on the bed. Too early to turn on furnace.Gonna be a putter around day. The credit thing screwed up my day yday and got me bent out of shape, need to kick back a bit today since it's all taken care of. Furnace check went great, guy they sent really took care of me after an issue I had with them last year. Been with them twenty years, sent them a lot of business, and I get a pushy, messy clown for a tech last year that had me billed wrong.
Hit it off with this guy, since I used to do some HVAC stuff on the side. He did a REAL thorough testing of everything. Amazing the new things they use...particulate analyzers, combustion gas analyzer, CO meters, gas leak detectors, all the electrical/amp draw and outputs, flue temps and gas valve pressures, etc. Unreal.  Normally it's $119 for this, had a $99 special. They said we'll take care of ya, Mark, would an even $75 be alright? After spending an hour going thru every test there is, ya, that was great with me. Guy even went home with a bag of 'mato's.  :azn:   Have a good one, guys.

Too bad we aren't closer Rebs.  You could come make my lawn actually all grass.  Double check our finances.  Maintain everything that has a spark plug and maintain the furnace.   After that you could make up some of your homemade family Mexican specialties.

She would probably hiss at him.  It is hilarious when she does that to the wife.  We both laugh at it.  Bob the female cat doesn't hiss at me.  I am too much of a push over and let her sit in my lap whenever she wants.

Thought my ears where burning. Cats are good for one thing, keeping rodents down.

Half way to Duluth today I get a call, my wife is going back to the hospital. Ends up her incision got infected. The did surgery to clean it up and will be in for a couple days.
