After reading your JB I had to look at the temp here.  32.4!!!  Unreal.  Maybe I better pull the onions that are still in the garden tonight.  I even have my thin long underwear on today since I will be outside most of the day.  Froze my butt off yesterday.  That time of year.  I am thinking the leaves are at full color around here now.  Good for the Lynx.  I should have watched their game last night.  Next year I will...

Mornin gents, 51 here with some early evening showers possible. We'll be heading back to Austin after lunch as Mom has a mid afternoon appt. We had a ceiling fan issue come up when we stopped there on the way home from the lake, so we may stay up there for a day or so depending on what she's decided to do about it. It looks like rain for this area on Friday. I was surprised to see almost 1/2 the bean fields empty on out way home on Tuesday, that's a lot earlier than normal. Not much else new from NE Ia. Have a good day everyone

Glenn57, hope things improve with the wife's issues.
I'm off to bury a dear friend I've known for 50 years.  I went to the wake last night and I couldn't believe the number of people that passed through. My friend had a positive impact on many lives.  (I met my wife of 47 years, started my career in the computer field through him).  I will miss fishing, vacationing and playing cards with him.  After the funeral, I'm off to visit another friend at his lake place.  We plan to double the size of his pole shed in the next few days.

Whatever you do, DON'T decide to set an agenda and clean out the closets and get rid of lots of accumulated junk.... because then all THIS will happen:
Decide to throw a new coat of paint on that spare room.....spilled a drop or two of paint on the carpet...hmmm...might as well pull it up and toss a new remnant down....then you discover never-walked-on red oak floors beneath....!!!! You end up pulling bedroom carpet back...same thing! This leads to light sanding and putting on coats of poly....then to cleaning and restaining woodwork and moldings (huge job to do yerself) ...then putting down new vinyl in kitchen, and oak moldings, cove moldings...since all the other floors are done. Now, kitchen would look better with that wall paper gone, which leads to scraping, sanding, priming all walls, mudding up where old paper bled thru...spraying new ceilings... and deciding might as well paint and spray every room/ceiling in house inside....gee, looks so much better, lets get rid of the curtains and spend a ton of money having vertical blinds put in....might as well replace that picture window in the living room too....and the ceiling lights....some new Berber in the master bedroom...and after four months, and two times in the ER because the Doc said yer pushing it way too hard...thank god I'd remodeled the bathroom a few years back!
Then, I walked downstairs into the rec room......hmmmmmm.........REPEAT!   :doah: :censored:

That used up two years....

:rotflmao: :rotflmao:  I got rid of mine for the opposite reason... no help with things. Plus, babysitting her sisters kids all the time when I worked 12 hr days and every other weekend and nites.     The BAD thing about all that stuff I did, was it was ME pushing me! No one else around!  :doah: This was just two years ago....and that danged flooring under the carpet started it all!!!
