Boy, that sounds just right to me!!!    I'd just use cracked black pepper and some coarse salt for a rub on it. Less is more with prime rib, IMO.

Some would go with 250 oven and take it out at 120 since there will be some carryover.   Depends on how you like "medium rare".   

I might actually sous vide mine, not sure how the timing will work.     And whether it will fit in a vacuum seal bag. 
Gotta transport it too

Mebbe, but at least we know how to use a condiment!  Sparingly!  And we know what it means!  Not like Glenn....."Her meatloaf was so good , smothered in KATCHUP, I had to give her a condiment on her cooking"...

  Good morning all, a tad bit cooler this morning but I'm not worrying about it. Nothing I can do to change it. Thanks for the tips on my prime, greatly appreciated. I picked up an old steel cabinet from work that is double walled and weighs a ton. Its 32"x32"x66" tall. Thinking it will make a good smoker. Find out next fall.

Morning boys. Yes sir, TGIF! We have our big profit sharing meeting today here in Warroad. That will break up the day to help make it go by. had -8 when I went to bed last night and 5 above this morning. Looks like mid teens today then the big cool off. Plan to work on making some venny sausage this weekend and maybe some ice fishy. Merry Christmas all!!! have a good one.

Morning, kiddos. 20* and _____  inches of snow. You fill in the blanks. Wedder morjits said 1-3", then less 2", than less than 1" to a dusting. Snowed until midnite. little over 3". Not enough to fire the big blower up...just enough to kill my legs and back shoveling/pushing it. Maybe I can get the NL to help me. We can make a snow angel sammich when we're done. Be careful out there today if ya got snow, and have a good day. 

Yup, nothing like "less than an inch".....dopey morjits!

mornin all, -3 here this morning..  easy day here too.  getting ready to head out this afternoon for the son's house in Monticello and have our Christmas tonight..  Daughter will be there and the grandkids too.  the father in is going to make it too..  should be a good time....  return home tomorrow and go from there!!!!  have a great day all!!!!

Mornin gents, 22 to start for us. We had a little moisture on the windshield leavin happy hour last night & woke up this morning to just enough snow to turn the ground white.  TWC's site says just a 1/4" but says travel's a little touchy. We'll be gettin our stuff together today to hit the road pertty early tomorrow to head to Austin for Christmas. Christmas Eve is at Mom's with just my sister, BIL, & youngest niece then out to Sis's house for Christmas Day. That will be a houseful as most of the BIL's family will be there too. We will be staying up there until at least Wednesday as there's a Dr. app scheduled for that day, so I'll be out of touch 'til then. Have a good day & hope you all have a great holiday.

Morning all.  Got the water boiling for medium eggs and some slices of ham and toast for breakfast.  Having some vanilla hazelnut coffe now.  3 degrees here.  Gonna put a new battery in the Ski Doo today and get the fishhouse warmed up for the nice and long weekend.  And I have Tuesday off too.

Morning guys. 8* here. Waiting for the big chill Mon-Tues. Got the wedder morjits 1/2" snow (actual 3 1/2") all blown off. Shoveled the steps, and since it wasn't the heavy stuff, did the roof rake thing. Two mins into it, and somehow  one of the little black "shingle rollers" that's on the metal blade edges came off and disappeared in the snow. (They have a slot that allows it to pop onto the cutout) %$#@! Without that, metal blade will scrape on shingles. Got inventive, and cut a piece of elec PVC conduit to size, slotted it with a hacksaw, popped it on, and we were back rollin' away. Spent the afternoon in the recliner with heating pad and lotsa Advil.

Evening all! 1 out of 3 stops for Xmas in the books, good time. Thought I would go battry shopping for the whipper snappers car earlier, gee whiz they don't give them away. The first store's cheapest was 135$ plus the core charge with a 2 year warranty , the second store had a better battery with a better warranty almost half the price....sold.

Gots to go fire up the fire place soon and fill a cooler of cold beers for the vikes game,  man I hope nobody gets hurt in the cold tundra tonight!!!
