I had to look twice to make sure but it is -31 here right now.  Unreal.  Ya I am tired of it too.  I too am feeling like we need a warm up.  Just found out there is no Bemidji to Laughlin trip scheduled from the Bemidji airport in Feb.  Darn we have been waiting all winter to get signed up.  May have to wait till March and the lady said she isn't sure if there will be one them but to keep calling.

Cabin fever is really setting in now.  However, I am planning a hunting land fix for Sunday.  A friend who does wood working and I are going to cut some trees (we marked them last year but never got them) for his craft.  Should be fun as it's been a while since I was at the land.

What type of trees are you taking down?
Goona saw them in to boards or does he do more rustic stuff?

This is just a small sample of some of his work. Over the years I've seen some absolutely amazing intricate items that he made.

I can't wait to see what he makes out of this burl

Very nice indeed.  That is a cool chunk of burl too.  Its good to know that a rare piece of wood will go to good use.

Good morning guys, -14 here to start off the day. Too damn cold, can't wait for Tues, Wed, & Thursday it'll be in the upper 40's lower 50's befor going back to normal winter temps of mid 30's. Not much here for the day but work then go home and make some wild rice mushroom soup in the pressure cooker, its about 15 to 25 minutes faster than on the stove top. Y'all have a good day

Morning all.  What a great day.  It is only -5.  That is the warmest it has been for over 2 weeks day or night.  I feel great!!!  I have vanilla hazlenut coffee brewing and it smells great.  We are off to Warroad shopping today.  I will drop off some Ice Rigs at Streiffs Sporting Goods also.  UPS delivered my Himalayan Salt Block last night.  It is 8"x12"x2".  It came with a wire rack holder too.  We will be heating it up and then doing a rib eye with it right on the table.  All of this will take place as I take the lead in Glenns Playoff Contest.    :rotflmao: :happy1:  I may even pick up something to sip on today.....  Oh ya I also will pick up a gallon of raw honey today.  The stuff in the stores doesn't have any of the health benefits left in it from the pasteurizing processes.  I go through a gallon about every 7 or 8 months.  I just put a shot in my coffee every morning.  The T Shirt Barrel carries it now so I don't have to go right to the farm anymore.  And they are in California with the bees this time of year.  I have to melt it down in a pan of water in my glass measuring cup and then pour it into an empty honey bottle.  All part of the fun....  A little honey wouldn't hurt you neither Rebs....   :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Mornin guys, we had -11 the last time I looked. Thought I saw low 30's to near 40 for tomorrow through Wednesday in the forcast. :happy1: That'll be a nice change for even us here south of the border. Been going through some of the clutter, trying to thin it out a little, for the last couple weeks. Sure I'll find some more we can do without today. Other than that, just check out the games today. Have a good un.

Morning all. -15 here....the last day of it so say the wedder morjits. Then, upper 20's, low 30's, thank god. I need it. So does my furnace! Been spending all my time at my Mom's dealing with some horrible issues with her and her husband. My cuz was there with me the other day, and I'm glad she was. Long story, but some jerkwad appeared driving a tow truck, I went out to see what was going on. He was there to repo their van; said he's taking it right now; her husband hadn't been making payments on it.... :doah: I told him to stand down, give me ID and paperwork from finance institution that was requesting it. He made the mistake of getting mouthy, and said "I'm armed and wearing a vest" as he advanced toward me...(are you shi**ing me??! he's gonna get himself killed!)  I took it as a threat, went into defensive posture, and swept my coat aside with my hand on my .40 cal.......got interesting at that point. Think he saw the "Reb" look, backed down fast.  Anyway, in the end, van was repo'd. Mom went just crazy, her husband went to pieces....my cuz kinda took over at that point, thank god for her. It went downhill from there...spent all day there yday, arranging to have phone service turned back on, (none for 3 months, they didn't even know it)  and paid off huge arrears bill to phone company. I worked on their furnace, which is a disastrous mess, have my furnace buddy coming out, 2 weeks is the soonest, due to tons of calls and replacing lots of heat exchangers. I think it's new furnace time, definitely. I'm wiped out.
Barry...HEY!!! I just bought bottle of pure unfiltered clover honey from a local farm last week, I eat it a lot! Love the stuff. All the girls call me honey, you know, bee a sweetie, eat yer honey. BZZZ
Also received yer rod holder when I was gone, thank you so much! I'm already thinkin'....hmmm... :azn:  Stay warm guys, and have a good weekend. I'm gonna try to unwind and just enjoy it.

Ya I got both of yesterdays games wrong in the work pool.  I am thinking I got them wrong in the Glenn pool too.  Man it was windy as heck here yesterday too.  Got stronger as the day went on.  It actually blew some of the snow off the roofs here.  That is a good thing.  It is +17 here.  Man is that nice.  Good morning to haul wood in the garage.  I use the Polaris 700 and my atv trailer.  Works great.  Man Rebs take care of yourself, that kind of stuff gets stressful.  It can also be very rewarding to help others so kudos for you and your Cuz.  Took all evening to temper the salt block thing so today is the real cook with it.  Got some bacon wrapped sirloins yesterday for the test.  Coffee that is a big temp difference over there.  Are you a big Eagles fan?  Well catch you all later.

So you are a Steelers fan.  There is a good chance we could meet in the big one.  That would be great.  I will be rooting for the Steelers to beat pretty boy Brady.  I read a few years ago that the Steelers are the #1 team in the NFL when it comes to fans support of buying shirts and hats etc.  I don't even think the #2 team is close from what I remember.

Oh yes black and gold baby. That would be a good match up but we always blow it against the patriots. It is amazing how many steeler fans there are at all the away games but I guess that is expected of people supporting a team that has won the most championships  :sleazy: :laughroll: :laughroll:. Years ago the league wanted the Rooneys to call the steelers America's team but they said no they are pittsburghs team so they went with Dallas instead.
