                                                 :reporter; Update

I just took da yardstick out da backdoor and measured da snow depth on da patio. Wow! I ran in-ta da bedroom and woke Borgie. Babe! "I got 10 inches" standing wit da yardstick in my hand. "Yep" she says, "dat ull be da day!"

                           I give up! :bonk:

                                                 Still Snowing Here  :snow4:

Well, borgie an I did all our errands early yesterday Gas, Groceries, cancelled fridays Dr appointment.  Other than having to clean up all da snow today if it slows down. Yep just da two of us snowbound fur da day.

So, early dis mornin I snuck into da bedroom while Borgie was still sleepin. I figured I'd romance her wit a beautiful song. So I played her a song dat I figured would fit da occasion. Wrong once again! She awoke and started yellin at me ta "shut dat off."
"Shut da door behind ya" she grawled! :taz: Where did I go wrong??

Morning, took mom in for a heart cath today and not good news. Her heart is in bad shape, her previous 2 bypasses are 100% blocked and the one on the outside of the heart is 90% blocked. The surgeon said if they do a stint it'll probably rip and kill her instantly and a third bypass is a 50-50 chance of her making it off the table alive. The surgeons are having a meeting then they will get with us to go over our options. If they can do anything it won't be until Monday or Tuesday.
if you kick me when I'm down you better pray I don't get up.

Man, that's tough, Coffee. Dealing with things like that right now. I hope they can make a stent or bypass work for her. They can do some great things in that area these days, hang in there, buddy. Best of luck to you and your Mom for a full recovery.

I hope they are able to come up with something for your mom.  My dad died the morning his bypass was scheduled.  We were driving to be there aND when we arrived he was gone.

Getting old sucks.  I realize that now more than ever.  Just ask Reb.

Morning all. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. We met with a different surgeon yesterday, he said he will be doing a bypass on her main life line artery and gives her a 90% chance of surviving. To me he seemed a little young and cocky which kind of threw up red flags in my eyes but I talked to my cousin who works in the O.R. and he said that he is the top dog in heart surgery so there is the reason to his cockiness. The surgery will be Tuesday morning. Y'all have a good day.

Coffee my prayres are for you,, your mom and the family.  I've been going up to Duluth back and forth because of my parents as well.  My mom is 90 and my dad will be 90 next Saturday.  My mom is doing real good after dealing with the flue which was very bad.  She is now in an apartment by herself.  My Dad went in the hospital after my sister found him laying on the floor for 20 hours.  he had the flu plus the worst case of pneumonia.  He was in the hospital for a month and now is in re-hab which he has been for a month and will be there for some time.  He was near death twice during that time.

It is true what doctors can do now.  God bless them.  My dad and I haven't talked to each other for over 8 years.  One day after deer hunting he said good bye to me and all was good.  After that I called like I always did every week.  My mother would answer and say he can't talk right now   Nine weeks went bye and I called every week and the same story.  Finaly I called my sister and she told me that I said bad things to him and didn't want to see me anymore.  Well that never happened.  My sister and brother understood why he was like that.  Long story so let's just say it was something dealing with dementia .

So he told my brother that he wanted to see me.  he said it was too long and all is forgotten.  I said sure I will see him.  He cried when he saw me and I held his hand and he put it to his heart.  I never brought anything up and let him talk for the 3 hours I was there.  Being a stubborn German he did say I had a big mouth LOL.  I just smiled and said ya sometimes.  I showed him pics of fishing and hunting from the past 8 years and told him that we will take him to the deer camp and take him fishing.  Even as we know unless he get's much improved that , that may not happen, but it's on the agenda if he can.   Going back up Saturday for his 90's birthday.  good luck.

Mornin, all

"My body she's a aching .... My back I tink is break-in ....Da shovel hand is shaken"...."So let it snow....let it snow.....let it snow."  training-087 :snow2:

Da weader lady stated dis mornin dat dis is da 7th er 8th day in a row da it's snowin.  Poor Borgie is worried bout da bingo bein closed ta-day.  I keep my MN. boat outside next to da house. I have a homemade pvc framework in da boat ta support da cover like a tent. Da heavy snow amounts could cause collapse or tears. So instead of usin a shovel and tear-in da cover I been usin da leaf blower. (works like a charm). I've also been use-in it ta clean da cars off. Sposed ta stop snowin bout 11:00 am.

I'd put da boat in da garage but da udder (guide boat) has da foyst pryority.  :banghead:

3* here. RH, I sympathize with ya, almost same situation here with my Mom, didn't hear or speak to her for almost the last two years. Now, she has Alzheimers pretty bad....I feel I lost and wasted those two years I can never get back. Guess there's a lesson to be learned here somewhere.
Hope the birthday was great for all of you and you had a great time.
Might be clean house day here if I get around  to it...just plain worn out from all the other stuff going on. Have a good Sunday, guys.

Morning boys.  I slept till 8.  Woke up a few times but just enjoyed laying in bed for awhile and drifting off again.  Felt great.  Watching TV about Korea and having coffee with the woman I love.  It is 4.5 above with a little snow in the air.  It is a great day to just be alive.  May carry some firewood in the garage today.  Thinking of maybe doing some ribs but not sure on that.  My Dad is 85 and in good health, my Mom is 81 and doing pretty good too.  I like hearing about your parents.  I know someday I will have to deal with bad things too so your stories are good to read.  God Bless All of you!!!

Morning fellers. Little late to da party but kinda a lazy morning. Last week got a road kill deer from my granddaughter boyfriend. Friday nite, skinned it and quartered it. Sat after doing some running deboned and cleaned it. Not a big deer this past spring fawn. Wasn't to beat up some of the back quarter was bad.today freeze some to slice to dry.
Gotta get ready to head to Sioux falls in the morning.

It was -6 when I got up at 3, but it's warming up slowly. Had my coffee, now I'm moving on to Ice tea..
Had one of them breakfast bowls to start the day....wasn't to bad for what they are. Burned some cardboard boxes this morning before it got light out....now I'm just tinkering around the house, cause it's still cold out and my ribs still ain't quite right....

All this talk about parents, makes me wanna call mine.....I have never had a "good" relationship with my folks...but, maybe it's time to forgive and forget.....maybe....

Anaway, I hope you boy's have a great day! And I'm glad that yur here!

Good morn.  Yes I agree with reb, everyone should try to fix any problems with their parents if they can. Sitting here with mom in the hospital room while she takes a nap and all I can do is smile and laugh trying to keep the tear away while I think of everything. Everyone should have good memories of the last thing they said to their parents.
When I think of the last thing my father said to me before he passed makes me laugh every time. He spent a week in the hospital and had a bad case of ass rash from laying in bed for a week. They told him to put Vaseline on it and it'll get better. He got home Saturday night and Sunday morning  He kept asking me to go to the pharmacy and get some and I said don't worry after breakfast I'll get some, he kept asking and I said I will just want to make sure your ok. He looked me dead in the eyes and said I thought I'll never say this to a guy but Dammit go get some Vaseline so I can lube up my ass. I went to the pharmacy and back which took 5 minutes and when I got back he was dead. so every time I think of my father i can smile. Y'all have a good day
if you kick me when I'm down you better pray I don't get up.
